TEDx Speaker - The Future of Work
Author: Transformational HR (October 2017 - Kogan Page)
Perry Timms - About meEnergy, passion and insight around a brighter future for people at work are my "things". I love running my own enterprise - PTHR - to help transform the world of work through more human, connected, social and enlightened ways of working. Rather than be the CEO of me, I’m the Chief Energy Officer for all the projects, collaborative efforts and networks I can be a part of. In 2014 I set up the i-Practice - a community of 120+ global practitioners aiming to make work better. We’re a “low-friction”, helpful bunch of lifelong learners who collaborate and collude on all things work and people.
Alongside my own business, I am a WorldBlu® Certified Freedom at Work Consultant + Coach: helping companies become freedom-centred, democratic and inclusive. I am an international and TEDx speaker on HR and the future of work and I wrote the e-book “HR 2025” and was a featured author to the 2 successful "Humane Resourced - Book of Blogs" compilations. I guest write for a range of online HR and Work publications and journals. October 2017 will see me published by Kogan Page with the book “Transformational HR”.
I'm a proud Chartered CIPD Member; facilitator & coach, I have led technology-driven business change for over 20 years as a corporate Head of Learning, Talent & OD. I am a social HR Practitioner; voted a top 10 blogger in International and UK magazines and topped HCM Essentials' International Tweeters list. I am Adviser to the CIPD on Social Media & HR, built the Institute’s first MOOC “Working Digitally: Social Media and HR” and was a Guide for the CIPD/MiX HR Hackathon.
I am Executive Consultant to 2015 HRD of the Year: Karen Beaven (River Island), a Visiting Fellow at Sheffield Hallam University and a Fellow of the RSA. I am a Non-Executive Director for Starling Arts - bringing inspiration to people through song and am a fellow Corporate Rebel - discovering where the happiest workplaces are and how they have maintained that spirit.
A tenacious reader; enthused networker and voracious learner, I describe myself as a life-aholic determined to change the world of work; one conversation at a time.
Meghan Keeley - About me Future HR Researcher at PTHR
As a recent graduate of the University of Nottingham with an MSc in Work & Organizational Psychology, I’m just starting to get my feet wet in the world of HR. Inspired by the work of Perry Timms, my connections in the iPractice community, and literature surrounding the future of work, my MSc dissertation explored the humanistic experience of employees working in a self-managed environment.
I am determined to continue this revolution of the workplace as we know it. I believe in a human-centered approach where all beings are encouraged to reach their highest potential. I truly value the power of authentic human connection and let this permeate all that I do.
When I’m not looking into the future of work, I’m working on my best self in the present. In my spare time I enjoy the tight-knit community at my local yoga studio. I love to travel and immerse myself in different cultures. I’m often reading about the future of work, psychology or wellness.

Partners - a range of progressive organisations helping shape the future of workThe Work Foundation addresses the fundamental question of what Good Work for all means: this is a complex and evolving concept. Good Work by necessity encapsulates the importance of productivity and skills needs, the consequences of technological innovation, and of good working practices.
The impact of local economic development, of potential disrupters to work from wider-economic governmental and societal pressures, as well as the business-needs of different types of organisations can all influence our understanding of what makes work good. Central to the concept of Good Work is how these and other factors impact on the well-being of the individual whether in employment or seeking to enter the workforce.
PTHR can help you work with the Work Foundation and provides consulting around Good Work for your organisation in the 21st century.

We believeIf we designed better work, people would be happier about their work and able to live more fulfilling lives.
If we create new aspects of work to run alongside existing traditional models, we will make more progress than trying endless change programmes and restructures.
If we build working methods that allow people to come to life and discover themselves, their talents and their ambitions in life, we’ll have a more just and contented society.
