We will search the EBSCOHost

database PsycINFO for peer reviewed

articles concerningaggressive behavior in

teenage girls who play

violent video games.

Page 4: PsycInfo Powerpoint

For this search we will use the check box, “Suggest Subject

Terms”, to view descriptors used to categorize articles.

Entering the term aggression provides a drop down menu of suggested terms.

Page 5: PsycInfo Powerpoint

The terms “Aggressive Behavior” and “Aggressiveness” are the

terms we wish to search.

We select these by checking the box

next to the term.

Page 6: PsycInfo Powerpoint

Press “add” to place these in the search form.

Use the connector “OR”

so that both the terms are

searched.

Next we narrow the results, first by age and then by gender.

Next we will do a key word search for video game violence.

We can add the key words most appropriate and then press search for the results.

As we type the term, the drop down menu displays

suggested key words.
