But there is one other important thing I would encourage you to do. Please ask a friend to attend Gala with you! But please do it soon! Tickets are limited and the deadline for reservations is this Monday, October 24 th . See you all for “A Taste of Salem Street” on Saturday, November 12 th at the Halle Center in beautiful Downtown Apex! Laura Gala – It’s More Than a Fundraiser It’s true, the Gala is the PSO’s major fundraising event this year. In fact, it is our hope that we raise around $16,000 from the event. Did you know that monies raised at past Galas have been used to purchase some of the playground equipment our children enjoy daily? Did you know it has been used to award grants for our teachers to allow them to purchase educational items that directly benefit our children, helping them learn and grow? Did you know that funds raised at our Galas helped to pay for the Activity Building, the same building where our kids eat lunch every school day, attend gym class and come together as a school community to worship? Gala is an important fundraiser. But Gala is a lot more than a money maker. It’s a community builder! It is an occasion for the parents who support our school to come together and socialize, relax, get to know one another. It’s an opportunity to leave the kids at home with a sitter and get out of the house. It’s a night where your mind can be occupied by the many choices of ice cream toppings at the sundae bar instead of common core math, book reports and service hours. It’s a chance to take all those people’s names you see in emails and match them up with a face. It’s a time to join, to build, to grow our St. Mary Magdalene family.
