Grand Knight’s Report: Happy New Year!
The new year brings a time for renewal. I want to ask each of our members to help us renew our council. You can do this at least a couple of ways. First: Take part in one of our many activities that you may not have been a part of recently or at all. Second: I challenge every member to invite eligible men to join us as knights. You may very well surprise yourself to see how few men you ask before one joins. We need to recruit tomorrow’s members and leaders today in order to keep our council strong and vibrant! I have personal invitation cards that you can present to prospective members. See me any time or pick some invitation cards or ap-plications up from the pocket on the wall in the hall way next to my the Grand Knights office or in the pocket outside the meeting chamber in the small hall.
We will be hosting a major degree on Sunday, February 19. This will be a First, Second and Third Degree all in one day beginning in the morning. Watch the February newsletter for details!
We have three events coming up in January that I want you all to have a chance to attend.
Tri District Meeting: On Wednesday, January 11, at 5:30pm. Our council will be hosting a tri-district meeting. All members are invited to attend and I am requesting all officers to attend. Please arrive no later than 5:30 pm. A light dinner will be provided. Call me or Jim Burgess if you would like to assist cooking the meal that night. Jim’s # is 810-358-5781. My # is listed below at the end of my article.
Ladies Appreciation Dinner-Second Annual. Sunday, January 22,Social Hour: 2:30pm Dinner: 3:30 pm followed by presen-tations. All dues current members are welcome to bring their ladies to this fun afternoon of appreciation, fellowship and spirituality at no charge! Our key speaker will be Catholic Humorist Sheri Wohlfert. We’ll also have some very fun musical entertainment and a spiritual message as well. We’re inviting the D of I and their spouse/guest to attend and also we’ll be getting the word out through our parish bulletins that K of C widows are welcome to attend! We’ll have a catered dinner.
Sunday, January 29, 10:am Mass: Corporate Communion at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Davison. We’ll follow mass with a breakfast at our hall. We’ll be inviting the parish from the 10am Mass to join us for breakfast and we’ll be presenting the par-ish with a special gift that morning. We’ll be partnering with the D of I in the cooking of the breakfast. I need 4 volunteers to assist them with cooking the breakfast.
Looking ahead!
We will not have another newsletter before the next Seminarian Dinner on Thursday, Feb. 2. Doors open at 5:30pm Dinner at 6:30pm followed by auctions and fun! Tickets are $ 12.00 each and are available now. Start planning, constructing, building, craft-ing and appropriating items for our annual auction. We have a challenge to build on some terrific success from the last few year’s dinners. Start bringing your items for the auction anytime. When you bring an item in for the auction please get with myself or an-other auction leader to fill out a slip about the item. We want to make sure we understand an item’s value when we put it in the auc-tion. Knight and Family of the Month!: **The Knight of the month for November is PFN Don Michalik **The Family of the month for November is F. A Few Words from Our FSC
Sir Knights and Ladies,
Our next upcoming event is our New Year’s Eve dance. This is the biggest fund raiser of the year for our Assembly. Please con-
sider coming and bringing some friends. Enjoy music by the Newsmakers and the camaraderie of your fellow Knights and friends.
The Newsmakers are one of the best dance bands in the area. We will provide beer, wine, setups, snacks and party favors
throughout the night. All of this for only $30.00 a person. Doors open at 8 pm with dancing from 9:00 pm till 1:30 am. Can't decide
right now? That’s ok, tickets will also be sold at the door, but we suggest you buy now and pick the table that you want to s it at. The
setting up of the hall will be New Year’s Eve morning at 9 am. If you can spare an hour, please come and help. Coffee and donuts
will be provided.
The Texas holdum for the Assembly held December 8th-11th was very successful. These fundraisers are where we raise monies
for all the different charities we contribute to throughout the year. We are in need of volunteers for events like this, so please help
and sign up when asked.
I know this is a ways off but the next Exemplification into the 4th degree will be April 22, 2017 in Brighton. If you are thinking about
completing your journey into full Knighthood please contact me or any 4th degree member for the proper forms. More info to follow.
Our next District II meeting will be Monday January 16th. It will be held in Dewitt at 7 pm. If you would like to attend and want to car
pool contact me.
Our next Corporate Communion will be held January 29th at St Johns, 10:00 am Mass. Color Corp. please arrive at 9:30 am.
Thank you for all you do for God and our country. Please be safe over the holidays and as always keep our military in your prayers,
as they stand in harm’s way to protect us.
From my family to yours, we pray you had a Blessed Christmas and have a happy, safe and healthy New Year.
Mark Campbell F.N.
YOUR 2017 RESOLUTION
Whether you are solving something or just renewing your resolve to be all that you can be, this is an exciting time of the year. We
begin with honoring Mary on January 1st. She was chosen by God to be the Mother of the Messiah. What a privilege for her, and
what a blessing for all of us, because each of us is called to share in the providential plan of God. Each of us is chosen to fill a spe-
cial role in the world. We need to discover what that role is and fulfill it. No role is unimportant and no role is impossible to achieve
with God's help. Rediscover your role and go for it this year.
Vivat Jesus

Brother Knights,
Happy New Year to all,
Billing statements have been sent, please pay your dues as soon as possible to avoid the need to send out additional statements.
Thank you to all of you that have paid, as of this writing 125 members have paid, that leaves165 that still need to pay. The second
billing notice will go out the end of January. If you need help in paying your dues please contact myself or the Grand Knight.
If you move please notify your council, we want to keep our records updated. We also incur additional mailing expense for the bill-
ing statements as well as the newsletters when they are returned. We are charged $1.16 for each returned newsletter, a huge cost
when it only cost $0.11 to mail them out.
We have a couple of activities coming up; Tthe Seminarian Dinner, and the Wives Appreciation Dinner. These are a great opportu-
nity to get involved and help your council, come out and give us a hand.
Snow birds please let me know when you are leaving. I will change your address so that you can keep up with your council during the winter. We are using an automatic call system to keep you informed of council activities, if you are not receiving the call please let us know. Maybe we need to update our phone records for you. If you would like to contact me I can be reached at 810-397-8114 or emailed at: [email protected] Fraternally yours, Joel Fournier, Financial Secretary
