Synopsis / Treatment:

I will be creating a fashion magazine, which will include fashion and beauty. The magazine will come out 4 times a year, at the start of each season (all four seasons). There will be interviews with celebrities, reviews and article on celebrities of anything fashion or beauty related. The magazine will be advertising fashion and beauty products, depending on how well they sell out they may be more than just a few products. There will be free things within the magazine such as beauty products and special promotional products from different fashion/beauty companies.

Style (similar products and visual style):

My magazine is going to be similar to other famous fashion magazine such as VOGUE, ELLE, and LOVE. They are all well-known magazines that have been around for years which means I may have competition. There will be a model/s on the front page using a portraiture shot and having the model facing the reader as if they are looking straight at the reader. I’m going to have my magazine’s name in a different font and colour compared to the rest of the page then I will have little headlines in different font and sizes all around the sides of the front cover. I wont have a lot of colours involves, the maximum I’m going to have is around 3 or 4 colours simply so it doesn’t look off putting.

Audience:

My target audience are females aged 18-30 years old, simply because that age will be where they start a decent job, go into university and then start to create a good stable life. Their social class should be ABC1 which means middles classed, I am also targeting people who have been in education or who are already are in education. I am targeting people who are interested in fashion, beauty and who want to be inspired by what they see, I want my magazine to reach out to people and help them choose a style they feel good in.

Legal & Ethical Considerations:

I will need to make sure there is no copyright and go over articles, interviews and reports to see if they already exist in the same way or not. I will need to avoid racism, sexism etc… I will interview different people or different backgrounds and origins. I can include both female and male models and interview famous male rather than just having all the attention on women.

Production Methods & Requirements [outline required techniques, resources and methods of production]:

To make my own magazine I will need to get quotes of a print company so they can print out my magazine just how I want it at a good price using good quality paper. I will need computer software’s such as Microsoft and Adobe, which will make editing so much easier.

I will need a big office with different rooms for different departments so it wont get too

crowded. I will need a good team of members within the company including journalist, editing people and print. So we will have all the main parts of the magazine covered. I will need a studio and artificial lights and a camera and a photographer so I could get special images of models and celebrities. I will need a makeup and a clothes artist to help the model/celebrity get ready for the shoot.

I can use online surveys, books, existing magazines and article to see what people like most in magazine and what catches their eye and then put it into place. This will help me get my target audience attention better and quicker because it will meet their standard.
