Methods: Measurement period and data sources

• Targets– Period: October 2011-September 2012 (annual)– Data sources: COP, SAPR

• Achievements– Period: October 2011-June 2012 (goal: 75% of target met)– Data source: Q3 update of SAPR

Methods: Indicators

• Selected 12 NGI indicators included in COP in most countries (Lesotho reports 2/12 indicators)

• Span multiple programmatic areas• 11 indicators have numeric targets (e.g. # of pregnant women

with known HIV status in PMTCT setting) – Calculate % target achieved – Numerator=Achievement / Denominator=Target

• 1 indicator has % target (i.e. % of ART patients known to be alive and on treatment at 12 months)– Assess whether target exceeded, achieved or not achieved– Compare % retained in last reporting quarter to target

Challenges

• Discrepancies in targets included in COP and SAPR• Discrepancies between data maintained in-country

and URS– TB screening among current patients – TB treatment data under reported in URS

• USG sets targets for indicators that cannot be reported on using existing national systems– TB screening among current patients estimated
