Transcript of Program - 2011 Future of Leadership Annual Luncheon
Houston, you see, has always tested its
limits. And that’s one of the reasons I love it.
Houstonians like to peer into the future, looking
for opportunity. And when they do, there have
been few boundaries to their imaginations.
61st u.s. secretary of state James A. Baker IIICenter for Houston’s Future Luncheon, April 14, 2010

THE CENTER FOR HOUSTON’S FUTURE is the reGIon’s tHInK
tAnK bringing business and community together to innovate for
the future of the Houston area. We do this by planning strategically
for the region, strengthening the base of diverse business and civic
leadership, and informing people about — while engaging them in —
the necessary groundwork for Houston’s global future. the
overarching benefit to the community is that of an independent
and respected source of information, a catalyst to connect and
energize divergent groups, and an incubator of new ideas and
initiatives to fuel big-picture, long-range thought and action.
