First of all I took a screen shot from the footage I gathered for the trailer. I cut out his face using the magic wand tool and placed it on a navy background

I then added a grid box on top of the image

Using the rubber tool on Photoshop, I rubbed out the excess grid so the grid was only covering the face of the image

I then drew around selected amount of gridlines so there were individual squares that had been selected with the knife tool

I then made a new layer where I would select all of the squares I had created and placed the layer on top of the main image

I then moved this new layer to the lift slightly so the selected cut out squares became disjointed from the original image to give the shatter effect

I then needed to create lighter squares on the original image to give the illusion that some other blocks were in the early process of transportation

I drew around individual squares, following the gridlines

I then went into the image settings and changed the brightness of the individual squares

I then repeated the process to create darker squares

I then needed to add the title and the tagline of the film.I did this by going on to the website where I found the text so it would show synergy between the text used in the trailer and my poster. http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/typodermic/korataki/

I then needed to include some more text on the poster. Still using the font, I incorporated some extra information for the audience to consume. By giving other films that the producer had made followed the conventions of posters that I had analysed. It allows the audience to relate this film to other films that they may have watched.

I then incorporated institutional information at the bottom of my poster. I did this so my poster would follow the conventions of a real film promotional poster. I found an image a film poster and copied the institutional information. I then edited the text so all of the original names were replaced by names I had inserted myself.
