Procter & Gamble Helps Dental Hygiene Program ProvideHealthy Smiles

UC Blue Ash students treat patients in the Dental Hygiene Clinic as a key part of their education.

April 20, 2015 - Procter Gamble (PG) is giving the faculty, staff and students in the dental hygieneprogram at UC Blue Ash College a lot of reasons to smile. They are all feelingdentistry orthodonticscheerful thanks to a $12,000 donation to the program by PG and Crest + Oral-B.

The money will be used to add new equipment to the Dental Hygiene Clinic at UC Blue Ash,including a high-tech automatic processor for radiographs and a child DXXTR mannequin that servesas a dental model for students and allows them to practice before treating real patients.

"This gift will have a huge impact on our department by making sure that our students arehttp://www.healthypeople.gov/2020/topics-objectives/topic/oral-health/objectives continuingtowikipedia dentist on the same state-of-the-art equipment you will find in most dental offices," saidDr. Cyndee Stegeman, chair ofdentistry implants Dental Hygiene Department. "We are veryappreciative of Procter Gamble for their generosity and continued support of our program."

A portion of the grant will also go toward scrubs for the students and general supplies for the clinic,such as gloves, masks, gauze, saliva ejectors, and cotton tip applicators.

The donation is part ofdentistry termsongoing partnership between the collegeand PG that includes sponsorship of theUC Smiles program at UC Blue Ash, whichprovides free dental care to area schoolchildren.

The Dental Hygiene Clinic at UC Blue Ashis open to the public and provides dentalevaluations and preventive treatment for anominal fee during the academic year.
