PLAYGROUNDInteractive corporate event specialist The Social Athletics Club launches a retro-themed Christmas party experience based around a school gymnasium in the 1980s

‘Playground’ takes place between 25th November and 20th December at a secret venue at London Bridge. The experience will be home to fictional school Johnstown High, and guests will be able to join the faculty staff (and some students who have snuck in) for an evening of drinks, dinner, dancing, and games. Décor includes giant chalk-boards, gymnastic vaults, climbing ropes decked out with plastic Christmas trees, tinsel, and spray-on snow. 80s school classics TheBreakfast Club and Ferris Bueller will be projected silently onto a big screen. Music includes 80s movie soundtracks from an optional live DJ. Following a welcome Gin, Elderflower & Lemon cocktail and a toast from Principal Beverly Glanville, attendees can enjoy games in the Gym including Skittles, Net Ball, Bag Toss, Ping-Pong, and Basketball Free-Throw. Faculty from the PE Department and the Prom King and his cheerleader girlfriend will mingle with guests throughout the evening in themed attire. Dinner will comprise a choice of substantial canapés including Sliders, Fish Pie, & Scotch Eggs or a Build-Your-Own Burger station.

MUNICHBEER HALLInteractive corporate event specialist The Social Athletics Club launches a Bavarian-themed Christmas party experience based around a Munich Beer Hall.

Munich Beer Hall takes place between 25th November and 20th December at a secret venue near Liverpool St. London. The experience will be home to a German beer hall during the week of Oktoberfest and guests will join Munich Deputy Mayor Helga Mueller and her fellow councilors for an evening of drinks, dinner, dancing, and singing. In an authentic beer hall, guests will enjoy Steins and mulled wine served by staff in traditional Bavarian dress before the official Deputy Mayoral welcome and Town Hall. This also entails the Bavarian state-mandated beer hall song training conducted by the President of the Munich Beer Hall. A live Oomp pah band will play the local classics as guest mingle with the official Mayoralparty. Dinner will comprise a traditional German buffet with sharing platters including bratwurst & pretzels.

CHALETMOOSERWIRTInteractive corporate event specialist The Social Athletics Club launches an Apres-Ski themed Christmas party experience hosted at a fictional chalet owned by a former Austrian Bobsleigh Champion.

Chalet Mooserwirt Takes place between 25th November and 20th December at a number of secret venues in London. The experience will be home to retired 1980s Austrian Bobsleigh Champion Lars Uberstadt and his former Miss Austrian wife, Helga. Guests will be able to join Lars, Helga, and friends for their Annual Winter Bash involving Apres-Ski, dinner, and dancing. In a themed Alpine Ski Lodge, Lars & Helga will personally greet guests as Apres-Ski of peppermint shots and spiced cider are served before Lars performs his traditional address where he reflects on his heroic bronze medal performance at the 1982 Greater Austrian Games.

Guests will also be entertained by his posse of team-mates in onesie and Alpine attire plus a choice of an Oomp pah bandplaying the local classics or live DJ. Dinner will comprise bowl food options including sliders, dumplings, schnitzel & strudel.

ICECURLINGThe Manitoba Tuck? Hogged Rock? Blank End? What are these terms? Well, they come from the Scottish-borne sport of Curling! It is a fun and social sport of finesse, skill, and teamwork. You and two other team members glide special curling stones called pancakes down a lane of ice towards the target. But this event won’t require you to grab your gloves and a jacket, choose from a variety of venues and a lane of synthetic ice will be delivered direct to you! Create teams and compete against your colleagues to see who could be on the next Olympic curling team.

ICESCULPTINGThe art of ice sculpting is pretty cool… no pun intended. This activity will have your hands busy making an ordinary ice block look like a majestic zebra, or even a polar bear! Personal designs are available by special request. After a professional demonstration on ice carving, work with your team of colleagues to make your partially complete ice block look like the original display. The team who does the best gets bragging rights at the office!

PIZZAPILGRIMAGEIt’s part Food Safari, part Scavenger Hunt, part Pizza-Making workshop. Sound random? It is, especially when sourcing key items wearing a Michelangelo comedy apron…and moustache. Teams meet at a carefully chosen pizza den (ok, venue but it sounded cooler) for the welcome intro and briefing pack. And comedy chef accessories of course. The pack is akin to a Scavenger Hunt but Pizza-themed, with the ultimate goal to send you into Mad London for team shenanigans for the next hour or so (i.e. challenges/dares – all must be captured via camera of course), returning with the team’s ultimate set of pizza ingredients, among other things/props.
