It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as the principal of La Verne Heights for the past six and a half years. La Verne Heights is a remarkable school, a hall- mark of what can take place when families and schools work together to support students. I want to take this opportunity to thank each of our families for your unwavering support of our educaonal program. I also want to thank each of our staff members for your commit- ment to ensuring all children at La Verne Heights receive an exemplary educaonal ex- perience. And I want to thank each of our stu- dents for your commitment to your own learn- ing and growth. You are the hardest working, kindest kids I know. PRINCIPAL’S CORNER by Patrick McKee, Principal

In mid-January I will be leaving La Verne Heights to serve in my new role as the Director of the California Induction Program for the Foothill Consortium. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as the principal of La Verne Heights for the past six and a half years. La Verne Heights is a remarkable school, a hall-mark of what can take place when families and schools work together to support students. I want to take this opportunity to thank each of our families for your unwavering support of our educational program. I also want to thank each of our staff members for your commit-ment to ensuring all children at La Verne Heights receive an exemplary educational ex-perience. And I want to thank each of our stu-dents for your commitment to your own learn-ing and growth. You are the hardest working, kindest kids I know. For our students, stay TRRFCC and always remember, your character counts.

OUR LVH SUPERHERO:

MR. TEMO

On Superhero Day in December, LVH staff

dressed as Mr. Temo to honor him as the LVH Superhero--an honor so well deserved. After

all, only Temo can...rescue birds from class-rooms with his bare hands; find lost jackets, lunch pails, and children; rescue classrooms

when there are surprise floods; chase away coy-otes and skunks; and his magical keys open all

the doors at LVH. Thank you, Temo, for all you do at La Verne Heights!

1st GRADE HOLIDAY SONG FEST The LVH first graders did an exceptional job performing at their Holiday Song Fest.

One of our students' favorite assemblies is Imagination Machine. During this assembly, the Imagination Machine brings students' own stories to life! LVH stu-dents write fun or inspiring stories, and then the Imag-ination Machine selects several to present in a com-plete production with professional actors, music, props and costumes! Students enjoyed their performance on December 14th.

KINDERGARTENERS PERFORM IN

“THE GINGERBREAD MAN”

Kindergarteners at La Verne Heights enjoyed their first stage production in December, The Gingerbread Man. Pictured here is Mrs. Davis's class.
