gradual development into a significant and successful operation. Along the way, each and every staff member of K. Wah Group has also upheld the Group’s guiding principle of prudence, pragmatism and perseverance while looking towards the future. K. Wah has consequently been able to pave a solid foundation and develop into a successful enterprise in a progressive manner.” “Capitalising on unparalleled experience gained over half a century, KWCM now possesses leading-edge technologies, diverse expertise and a modern management system. We are confident in our capacity to take on new challenges ahead, and we hope to leverage our accumulated experiences to continue our development as well as contribute to the growth of Hong Kong and Mainland China in the future.” During the earliest years of operation, KWCM sought to develop the Anderson Road Quarry into a fully enclosed and environmentally friendly aggregate production site featuring automated operations and a modern management system. Such advancements were intended to ensure safe production, mitigate the quarry’s impact on the surrounding environment, and establish K. Wah Group as a role model for the industry in respect of sustainable development. In 1997, KWCM entered into an agreement with the Civil Engineering and Development Department (“CEDD”) of the HKSAR involving the “Rehabilitation of Anderson Road Quarry”. Spanning 17 years, the agreement would lead to the rehabilitation of the ecological environment of the Anderson Road Quarry, and ultimately, creation of a multi-purpose land tract with more than 40 hectares available for development. After 20 years of rehabilitation and embellishment, the site now includes nearly 230,000 planted trees, a 200-metre long stairway on a major slope, and a drainage system that is over 10 kilometres in length. From such measures, KWCM has transformed the quarry into a beautiful natural landscape ahead of its return to the Government, which aims to develop private and subsidised housing flats with a planned population of about 25,000 and thus benefit society and the people of Hong Kong. Through its continuous regional expansion and product diversification efforts, KWCM has transformed into a fully integrated, environmentally friendly and value-added construction materials supplier in the region and which possesses world-class technologies, experience and management system. In the future, KWCM expects to support the Hong Kong Government in promoting the operation and development of quarry sites. At the same time, KWCM will continue to promote environmentally friendly technologies in a bid to provide quality, value-added and high energy-efficient products such as aggregates, Ground Granulated Blastfurnace Slag (GGBS), cement and concrete. As a one-stop integrated enterprise offering ecologically friendly and value-added solutions, KWCM will continue to make investments that facilitate the development and economic prosperity of Hong Kong and Mainland China. It looks forward to participating in infrastructure projects arising from the “One Belt, One Road” initiative and development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Big Bay Area. In the supply of construction materials and premium aggregates, K. Wah will continue to contribute to the society with its vast experiences and pass on the legacy of its premium brand and reputation to make further contributions to the development of Hong Kong and Mainland China.
