UNITO (Italy)
The Department of Chemistry is active in several research fields, e.g.
materials science, analytical and environmental chemistry, organic and
inorganic syntheses, physico-chemical studies and computational
chemistry, industrial chemistry and metallurgy.
The Nanostructured Interfaces and Surfaces (NIS) interdepartmental
centre offers a huge support to researchers for materials synthesis and
characterisation.
POLITO (Italy)
The DISAT (Department of Applied Science and Technology) focuses
on research and education involving the fundamental principles of
matter and energy, their transformation and related engineering
applications.
The research group in polymeric materials, POLYMAT, has as main
task the use of photopolymerization processes for the development of
advanced functional polymeric materials and lithographic applications
(direct lithography, soft lithography) or 3D printing.
UPV (Spain)
The main role of the UPV in the frame of the MAT4TREAT project is
testing photochemical materials and designing combined processes.
Tasks are devoted to chemometric studies on Bio-Based-Substances
(photophysical characterization) and testing their applications as
catalysts.
Some parallel work is performed on the application of novel hybrid
strategies involving iron-based materials.
AAU (Denmark)
The Section of Chemistry at Aalborg University designs and fabricates
new silicon carbide and graphene oxide-based membranes for the
removal of micropollutants from wastewater. The membranes are
applied to real filtration systems and understanding of membrane perm-
selectivity is developed.
UOI (Greece)
The research laboratory of environmental and analytical chemistry conducts
multidisciplinary research on the analysis and fate of emerging pollutants as
well as on the environmental technology.
The main research activities are:
a) Analytical Separations
b) Chemometrics-statistical treatment of data, experimental design
c) Environmental Chemistry - Study of the environmental fate (kinetics and
mechanisms) of organic contaminants and toxicity assessment
d) Environmental Technology and Advanced Water Treatment-Development of
Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) for the mineralization of organic micro-
pollutants
ACEA (Italy)
Acea Pinerolese Industriale SpA is an Italian multi-utility company that
manages different services concerning energy (production of biogas), waste
treatment and water distribution.
LQT (Denmark)
It is leader in the development, manufacturing and supply of revolutionary
silicon carbide ceramic technology for the purification of liquids and
gases.
McGill (Canada)
Research devoted to preparation of advanced graphene-based
materials for energy and environmental applications.
Support to synthesis of advanced materials for both photocatalysis and
pollution absorption.
UNLP (Argentina)
INIFTA (Instituto De Investigaciones Fisicoquímicas Teóricas y
Aplicadas) of the Universidad Nacional de La Plata is structured
around research projects on energy conversion and storage,
photochemistry, synthesis of materials, nanotechnology.
Roles in Mat4Treat project: synthesis and application of iron-based
materials as photocatalysts, study of reaction mechanisms.
SU (South Africa)
The Department of Chemistry and Polymer Science plays host to the
largest research effort in Polymer Science in South Africa.
The group is interested to structure property-relationship in complex
polymer materials, in the synthesis of these materials and in the
development of novel analytical approaches and techniques to
characterize these materials.
Electrospinning is the main technique available for Mat4Treat partners.
