� 1 year ago, server infrastructure changed

� server virtualization

� application centralizing

� Hardware is fully redundant

� external audit (FMA, OeNB) comes to the conclusion this is not enough

actual situation� for the user applications (terminal server):

� 12 virtual citrix servers on 3 esx-hosts

� 3 physical citrix servers

� each server is fully redundant

� “standard” server: (domain controller, gateway, DNS, archive, mail-server…)� 9 virtual servers on 2 esx-hosts

� full redundant (HA on esx)

� 2 SANs (Raid5) for data storage and data backup

� server room with air conditioning, fire control, uninterrupted power supply (USV) and backup data circuit


actual situation� system crash due to a hardware failure is improbable

� not safety enough for the external audit

� single point of failure:

� server room location for itselfbig fire, vandalism, plane crash, long power cut, …

� -> 20 branches cannot work, headquarter cannot work, no chance to buy / sell stocks


project aims

� built a second server room

� this server room should manage the work environment if the first server room break down
