Integrated Urban Farming within the thick rain forest of Serendah

With seven billion mouths to feed, human agriculture exerts a tremendous toll on the planet, from water draws to pollution, and from energy use to habitat loss. But there is also a growing set of solutions, from organic agriculture to integrated pest management

Still, if the right combinations of new technology, community support, and economic incentives align, it's possible we may soon be munching on skyscraper scallions and avenue arugula

Growing food closer to home can help to build awareness of—and appreciation for—food production. Many children growing up today have no relationship with farming; they have never seen a head of lettuce being grown, picked a tomato from the vine, or watched chickens scratching in the soil. Such awareness will help to build respect for the Earth and environment on which we all depend

The Stop Community Food Centre in Toronto, Growing Power in Milwakee, People’s Grocery in Oakland, or Lifecycles in Victoria are the example of community urban farming which we can learn from

Tropical weekend home

-design concept of the house is focused on cluster idea, trying to blend the layouts with the natural landscape of Serendah hilly site

-the layout is also responding to the north & south openings to avoid the heat of east & west sun

-deep overhang is part of the design to allow people to have an open planing layout where green landscape becomes part of the house

Edible forest gardens -is the land reserved for the people to plan in planting their own fruit orchard -the original slope will become the nature of the grid for the fruit trees

Raised beds for individual plots-the concept of having the raised bed is to make home farming becomes easier for the people-raised bed also helps to protect the nature of the land from being cut -raised bed becomes part of the landscape design for the house layouts.
