My full name is Kathleen Marie Roslyn Ann Jackson, but most people call me Kath. I was born in Tameside Hospital which is in Ashton-Under-Lyne (Manchester) on the 31st August 1989 and I am

the oldest of five children. I spent most of my life living in Hattersley, Hyde, which again is in Manchester. I attended Hare Hill Primary and Nursery School until I was 10 years old and then I

moved up to secondary school. The first secondary school I attended was Hattersley High School, but then this school was closed down and a new building built in Gee Cross, Hyde, and it was named Alder Community High School. I attended this school until I was 15 and then I went on to study

computing at Hyde Clarendon Sixth Form College. I did a BTEC National Diploma for IT Practitioners and Distinction, Distinction, Merit. In January 2008, I met my wonderful boyfriend (now fiancé) Thomas Smith. We moved to Leicester and started degrees at De Montfort University. Due to

personal reasons and change of career choice, we decided to move to Plymouth. We started on the Environmental Science degree, at the University of Plymouth, but it turned out that analysing rocks just wasn’t our thing and so we decided to transfer onto the Digital Art and Technology course, and

so far it’s fantastic and I am enjoying it. So hopefully I’ll complete the degree with at least a 2:1, then do a PGCE and become a teacher... :)

Manifesto of a student

Too long have we been rising from our pits before 9am - from this day forward, we declare that all

students take the opportunity to lie in until at least 10am.

We believe that with an hour extra sleep, it will curb our enthusiasm, make our brains function better and therefore enhance our overall performance in class.

We believe that lecturers should be more understanding when the party-goer turns up late -he's been out drinking all night and has a stinking hangover, the last thing he needs is a hard time.

We believe that all lecturers should bother to turn up to classes on time - as we've made the effort to get

out of bed especially for their boring rants.

So, from today onwards, let's lie in, let's party till dawn and drink till we pass out, then roll in late...

Let's be students!
