New Projects 2019Abengoa has been awarded in 2019 new projects for a total value of €1,107 million, including world’s largest reverse osmosis desalination plant in Taweelah. Among them:

1 ▪ Reduction of debt through capitalization or write-off of 70% and dilution of 95% for shareholders.
▪ New liquidity received, mainly dedicated to the repayment of outstanding debt and restructuring costs, net funds received by Abengoawere limited.
▪ It represented an important, although not definitive, step in order to achieve a sustainable capital structure.

Due to the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and taking into consideration the evolution of the business, the financial projections included in the Viability Plan, published in 2019, has been revised, presenting an Updated Business Plan. In the UpdatedBusiness Plan, several measures are included in order to restore the equity balance of Abengoa S.A, ensure its long-term success and its position to compete globally..

Infrastructure that will benefit 2 million inhabitants of Leon and the Altos de Jalisco.
It consists of a 140 km driving line, two pumping plants, a water treatment plant of 3.8 m3/s capacity, a regulating tank and a macrocircuit of 40 km.

Certified as efficient cogeneration, this plant can meet Mexico’s clean energy requirements at competitive prices. Energy is sold in the Wholesale Electricity Market, and the steam is delivered to Pemex.
It has a gas turbine, a steam turbine and a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG).

The project is integrated in a combined cycle, being the first Integrated Solar Combined Cycle (ISCC) plant in Mexico and Latin America.
It had a 50 MUSD grant from the Global Environmental Facility (GEF).

First combined cycle done entirely by Abengoa in Mexico, awarded under the scheme of Financed Public Work from CFE.
It is the first power plant of CFE in the State of Morelos.

Project’s aim is to evacuate the energy generated in the combined cycle Norte III

Execution of all the necessary works for the construction and commissioning of four substations in 230/115 kV in the state of Sinaloa.

The project involves the construction of two substations of 230 kV and a transmission line of 400 kV with 201 km length in the Mexican state of Sonora.
It is one of the largest transmission lines projects awarded by the CFE in the last years.

Construction of a line of 74 km and laying of other existing of 207.7 km, both in 400 kV
Abengoa developed the works of the line between Lazaro Cardenas and Ixtapa Potencia, for which the engineering, assembly and prototype tests for the structures were required to withstand winds above 200 km/h.
