OBJECTIVES OF SIP INCLUDE:

1.  To provide students with opportunities

to apply the concepts learnt in the

classroom to real life situations.

2.  To sensitize students to the nuances of

a work place by assigning time bound

projects in a company.

3.  To provide students a platform to net

work which will be useful to improve

their career prospects

The Summer Internship Program (SIP) is meant to bridge the gap between

real-life business and academic institutions. It is a simulation of the business

environment and enables students to experience the rigors of a business

organization.

The SIP emphasizes faculty supervision during the project and the

evaluation of the students at the work center with the active involvement

of the senior management. These efforts have strengthened the closeindustry relationship at academic center and have also paved the way for pre-

placement offers to the students.

(Batch 2010-12)

I got to work on a more diverse range of work than what I expected before joining the SummerInternship Program. My SIP with “Somharsh Enterprise “was fun and learn experience for me

which also gave me a fair idea about how to prepare myself for the future.

--Dhananjay Singh

(Batch 2010-12)

MCL is indeed one the best organizations to work for. My project brought me in touch with

people from many departments which gave me an opportunity to interact with people of

incredible talent and enthusiasm.

When we are talking about investment into capital market

everyone must know that capital market is highly

volatile i.e. it involves risk which results due to

fluctuations in the capital market due to various

reasons. Your success as an investor depends

upon your ability to choose the right investment

options. The right investment is a balance of

three things Liquidity, Safety and return. So to

insure returns on your money you just being smart

is not enough you need to be smarter.

Green Code… Green Quotient… Green Marketing has emerged as driving force behind conceptualization toimplementation of innovation ideas worldwide, especially in developed countries. The latest FORTUNE

magazine issue has estimated that Rs. 12,63,800 crore could be lost over the next two decades if India Inc. doesnot implement GREEN strategies Now. Without an aggressive green agenda, analysts say, India cannot

develop. Investors are evaluating cities on their green quotient. Green Strategies are mammoth task for

government and industry. Green strategies broadly cover greening the supply chain, development and certified

energy saver products & services, eco friendly packaging, green transport till green community work. Active

participation of employees, customers and community on environment platform would build image and

reputation of organization. Involving local government agencies and media on environment issues, creates

favorable publicity. Thus, effective implementation of green strategies would provide the much needed

rofitability and sustainability to corporate industry. I heartily congratulate IBS student for taking

GO GREEN as a theme for Prerana magazine.

Business Ethics

It is all about making money,To make none of differences,Between humanity, money and time.

It is all about changing situations,In an area of huge gathering of work,

It is to concentrate on work that makes serious,But not to make serious things that disturbs us.It always emphasizes on two important things,

When there is an importance of money,Humanity doesn’t values,

But when there is an importance of humanity,Money doesn’t values.

Time matters a lot in business,To update decisions on changing events,It enlightens and brightens when it favors,Or it collapses or vanished when it won’t. By keeping in mind the special value,

As business should regulate,An intension with achieving with higher profits,

Rather to run with a sight of having loss .

TeenageOh! The sparkle of teenage years makes me feel nostalgic. This is very critical phase when

the blood is pumping fast in our body. The sudden urge to be rebellious the crushes, the

inexplicable dislike, the brooding, are all symptoms of this teenager phase. The need to look cool

by loosening the tie and keeping shirts unbuttoned reflect this confused stage. This is very

common among the teenager stage. Now do you understand why you behave in this peculiar

attention grabbing behavior?

Parents please be careful, it’s a turbulent stage since children spend their maximum time

at home, and it’s your duty to help your kids in understanding the upheavals inside them. You

have to become “a best friend, philosopher and guide” to your child. Your child should freely

share with you, all hopes, aspirations, phobias, peer-group pressures. Don’t worry. As it’s only a

transient stage, so gently steer emotional confusion. Don’t be angry on them ever whether they

are wrong or not. Try to solve the situation as gently as possible. Make them understand what is

right and what is wrong.

A lot of responsibility has been thrust on teachers regarding behavioral management.

One Aspect which should be tackled is discipline. Teachers should be such that they became role

model for their students. Pupils should be made aware that after a certain limit, outrageous

behavior will not be tolerated. They should become mature enough that they should not be

informed every now and then how to behave. This exercise overflow of energy and emotional

should be challenged into demanding sports like athletics, march past and drill which not only

instill discipline but also maintain mental equilibrium. So, start transforming your behavior. Once you do that, enjoy this period but do not

forget your limits. What is revered and what is sacrilege should be absolutely crystal clear in your

mind. Don’t go overboard and don’t be side tracked. You are the fountain of untapped potential,

the perpetuator of great Indian power in the era of globalization. Don’t be misleading by fake

modernism. Stick to your basic values, though you might change superficially, the innateness of

being Indian in mind body and spirit should be adhered to.

STUDENTS’S INSIGHT

Should India import Technology? When we hear word ‘Technology’, we draw picture of giant machines and tools in our mind. Well,

Technology is not only about giant machines or tools. It’s all about techniques that reduce human efforts.

After all, Human has invented technology for his ease of work. The world is changing rapidly in 21st

century.

After 63 years of independence, the question arises that, are we really independent in terms of Technology?

Well, it’s a point of debate. Some will say yes, we are independent enough to have our own

technology, while others say we are using technology which we had not invented. India is one of the fastest

developing countries in the world along with its neighbor China. So Technology plays important role in

development aspect of such countries. The optimists would say, India have its own technology in fields of

Army, Agriculture, Production, Infrastructure. India has its own nuclear weapons and missiles which shows

essence of Technology in India. India has achieved tremendous success in Information Technology Sector. So

many patents and copyrights are registered under name of Indians.

Though, we have good technology in above fields but still we are very much behind to implement &

use technology. When we compare technologies of India and developed countries i.e. USA and Japan, we are

more than three years behind. The perfect example of it is, when we launched 3G Technology, Japan wasgoing to implement 4G Technology. We import technology from other countries and at the same time they

adopt Advanced Technology!

At the end, I would say, we should not worry about technology should be imported or invented, as

long as technology is helpful to us in developing ourselves and India. Mobile was not invented in India, but

India is one of the biggest consumers of Mobiles in the World. Invention of technology is also vital as it gives

you an extra edge in this competitive world. Maybe we are not the best inventors of technology, but we are

the best users of technology forsure.

Android

Android is a software stack for mobile devices

that includes an operating system, middleware and key

applications. It is an operating system for mobile

devices such as mobile phones, tablet

computers and net books. Android is developed by

Google and is based upon the Linux

kernel and GNU software. It was initially developed

by Android Inc. (a firm purchased by Google) and later

positioned in the Open Handset Alliance. It

allows developers to write managed code in a Java-like

language that utilizes Google-developed Java libraries.

The Android operating system software

stack consists of Java  applications running on a Javabased object oriented application framework on top

of Java core libraries running on a Dalvik virtual

machine featuring JIT compilation. Libraries written in

C include the surface manager, Open Core  media

framework, SQLite relational database management

system, OpenGL/ES 2.0 3D graphics API, WebKit

layout engine, SGL graphics engine, SSL, and Bionic

lib. The Android operating system consists of 12

million lines of code including 3 million lines

of XML, 2.8 million lines of C, 2.1 million lines

of Java, and 1.75 million lines of C++.

Child Labour

Can we eliminate child labour? Though it is a desirable goal the fact remains that in the given socio-economic scenario that is prevalent in our country, it is virtuallyimpossible to do away with child labour. One cannot dispute the fact that employers exploit children by paying them much less than what they would pay in adult and the

future of the working children is ruined as they will not be able to attend schools and get educated for a better future.

But when one considers the economic compulsions of the families which force the children to work, one will be compelled to admit that elimination of child

labour will be a distant dream as long as the socio-economic status of these families is not improved. Realizing the harm caused by child labour, the Indian Government

made laws to protect children from exploitation at work and to improve their working condition. Besides, a comprehensive law called Child Labour (Prohibition and

Regulation) Act. 1986, was promulgated to prohibit employment of children in certain occupations and processes.

In 1987, the Indian government formulated National Police on Child Labour to protect the interests of children and focus on general development programmesfor the benefit of children. As a part of this policy National Child Labour Projects have been set up in different parts of the country to rehabilitate child labour. Under

these projects, special schools are established to prove non-formal education, vocational training, supplementary nutrition etc. to children who are withdrawn from

employment.Though elimination of child labour is an impossible task in the current socio-economic scenario, the Indian government is committed to the task of ensuring that

no child remains illiterate, hungry and without medical care. When this ideal will be achieved is a million dollar question.

The developed countries are exerting pressure on developing countries like India to eliminate child labour. According to the current thinking the developed

countries may stop imports of those goods that involve child labour in their production. In some of our cottage industries like making of carpets, children are employed inlarger numbers. These carpets, which are being exported, may soon lose their market abroad if the producers of these carpets persist with child labour.

Child labour is, no doubt, an evil that should be done away with at the earliest. The prevalence of child labour reflects very badly on society that is not able to

stop this evil. But in a society where many households may have to suffer the pangs of hunger if the children are withdrawn f rom work, beggars can’t be choosers. Thesefamilies have to send their children to work, even if the future of these innocents is ruined, as that is the only choice open for them to survive in this world. Therefore,

unless the socio-economic status of the poor families is improved, India has to live with child labour .
