Course Descriptionthe AASm Accredited Sleep technology education program (A-Step) introductory course is an 80-hour comprehensive program for sleep technicians new to the field. the two week course provides participants with the practical skills that are essential for a successful career in the profession of sleep technology and includes a mixture of didactic lectures, online learning, practical exercises and observation at a sleep center.

Target Audiencethis course is intended for sleep trainees and technicians new to the field and those initiating the process of certification.

Course Descriptionthe Scoring of Sleep workshop will provide participants with the necessary background and explanations to understand the rules of the AASM Manual for the Scoring of Sleep and Associated Events. the workshop provides a comprehensive review of all aspects of the sleep study scoring process beginning with a brief review of filter settings and electrode placement followed by an in-depth discussion of the scoring rules with illustrations of key points and tables to summarize scoring strategies.

the American Academy of Sleep medicine designates the Sleep Center Manager Boot Camp as a live activity for a maximum of 29.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™, and the Scoring of Sleep Workshop as a live activity for a maximum of 7.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. the AmA council on medical education mandates that accredited providers only offer AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ to physicians. the AASm will issue a letter of attendance for activities designated for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ to all other individuals.
