2.2 Brief description of the nature of the projectThe proposed project is to mine brick clay from above mentioned plots sustainably and
scientifically. Mining will be opencast and manual as per mining rules keeping all the nearby plots
unaffected. Following geo-scientific methods are proposed to carry out the activity:
Mining will be confined to extraction of Brick Clay in its existing form, from their allotted
plots only.
Mining of Brick Clay from their allotted plot (s) will be restricted to a maximum depth of 2
m from the surface.
No drilling and blasting is proposed.
Approximately 9689.8 cu.mtr/ 33,91,430 bricks per annum minor mineral will be
extracted.
No mining activity will be undertaken during the monsoon season.
In order to avoid environmental pollution or any accidental hazards, the mining activity will
be restricted to daytime only.
The operation will remain manual, using tools like shovel, spade, sieve etc.
2.3 Need for the project and its importance to the country and region
The proposed land is undulated land. To make the land flat suitable for agriculture, the
excavated soil from the undulated land would be used for commercial purpose. The excavation
work will provide employment to the local labours.

Brick Clay has become a very important mineral for the manufacturing of Bricks which
contributes to the expansion of infrastructure in the society. With the increase of urbanization the
demand for Bricks is growing in infrastructure sector in our country. Individual and private
companies are increasingly demanding Brick for construction purposes and this has immense
pressure on brick clay resources. This increasing demand and extraction makes this an
environmental issue.
2.5 Domestic/ Export MarketsDue to the increased industrial and infrastructural growth of the rural and urban areas
demand of Brick is very high. Construction companies and local vendors in the nearby town and
cities are the potential market for the brick made up of brick clay.
2.6 Employment GenerationThe proposed project will generate direct /indirect employment to the people of all class of
society. During the operational phase not more than 20 semi skilled and non skilled workers will be
hired. The contractors will get the direct or indirect benefit from the project activity.

This is a new mining project. The proposed project is for the extraction of Brick Clay from
the allotted plot(s) manually.

3.3 Details of alternate sites consideredThe soil excavation site is site specific, hence there are no alternative sites considered.
3.4 Size or magnitude of operationThe proposed excavation area is 3.323 ha. The total excavated Brick clay would be 9689.8 m3 per annum & total mineable reserve is 48449 cu.mtr.
3.5 Project description with process detailsThe proposed project is to mine Brick Clay from plot(s) under agreement sustainably and
scientifically. Mining will be opencast and manual along the plot(s) keeping the nearby
plot(s) unaffected. Following geo-scientific methods are proposed to carry out the activity:
Mining will be confined to extraction of Brick Clay in its existing form from the allotted
plot(s) only.
Mining of Brick Clay from the allotted plot(s) will be restricted to a maximum depth of 2 m
from the surface in proper bench form as per MCR-1960.
No drilling and blasting is proposed.
Approximately 9689.8 m3 or 33,91,430 bricks per annum per year minor mineral will be
extracted.
No mining activity will be undertaken during the monsoon season.
In order to avoid environmental pollution or any accidental hazards, the mining activity will
be restricted to daytime only.
The operation will remain manual, using tools like shovel, spade, sieve etc.
During the agreement period, the deposit will be worked from the top surface to 2 m.
3.6 Raw Material Required Along With Estimated Quantity, Likely Source, MarketingArea of Final Product/S, Mode of Transport of Raw Material and Finished ProductNo raw material will be required in the proposed project. The operation involves the
extraction of Brick Clay in its existing form. Raw bricks will be cast and transported to the
kiln site by carts and tractor trolleys through village chak roads.

3.7 Resource optimization/ recycling and reuseNot envisaged.
3.8 Availability of water its source, energy/ power requirement and source
3.8.1 Water Requirement
There will be very little requirement of water to carry out operations as it will be done
manually. The water will be required either for drinking purposes or for casting of bricks. It is
projected that not more than 20 labours will be required for the proposed project. Apart from
casting of bricks, the total water requirement will be 2.0 KLD which include 1.2 KLD for
sprinkling & plantation and 0.8 KLD for Drinking.
All the activities will be carried out manually. The operation will be done in day time;
hence there is no power requirement for the project at site.
3.8.2 Power RequirementThe operation will be done only from sun rise to sunset. Hence there is no power
requirement.
3.9 Quantity of wastes to be generated (liquid and solid) and scheme for theirmanagement/disposal.
3.9.1 Solid Waste Generation & its DisposalThe entire mineral extracted is saleable. The labours from nearby villages will be hired to
carry out work in day time only, hence there will be no or very less waste is expected to generated.
3.9.2 Liquid EffluentNo liquid effluent will be generated at the excavation site.

4. SITE ANALYSIS4.1 Connectivity
Allahabad Bamrauli Airport- 42.9 Km SW. NH-2 road- 15 km towards S direction from the project site. Ugrasen Railway Station 11 km from the project site in NE direction.

The proposed project is located at M/s Badri Ent Udyog from 774 Hiramanpur;7,117,169,143,1143,1196 da,37,175,263,265 at village karuadeeh, Tehsil- Handia, District -Allahabad, U.P (Area-3.323 hac). The excavation of soil will be from the Non-Agricultural land.4.2.1 Sensitivity of Location:The Proposed Mining Activity of brick clay will be carried out. It is a small scale mining withoutsignificant hazard. However, the other sensitive areas are discussed below-
There is no Reserved Forest/Protected Forest within 5 km from proposed projectsite.
There is no National Park, Wild Life Sanctuary within 5 km from proposed projectsite.
The nearest settlement is Handia 16.5 km in SE Direction from Project Site.
4.3 Topography/Physiography of the area:Brick earth area is marked on cadastral map. The area is almost flat. General slope of the areais towards south east. The highest point is 99mRL and the lowest point is 98mRL.
4.4.4 Geology: Geologically the district is formed by sub-recent to recent rocks composed of theordinary gangetic alluvium. The alluvium probably on the north- eastward sloping basementconsiting of gnisses, granites and patches of vindhyans.
4.4 Existing land use patternCurrently the land is Non-Agricultural land located at The proposed project is located at M/s BadriEnt Udyog from 774 Hiramanpur; 7,117,169,143,1143,1196 da,37,175,263,265 at villagekaruadeeh, Tehsil- Handia, District - Allahabad, U.P (Area-3.323 hac). The excavation of soil fromthe Non-Agricultural land.to make the land flat suitable for the agriculture, the excavation of soil isproposed for commercial purpose. The excavation work will provide employment to the locallabours.
4.5 Soil classification
Soil is characterized mainly by Ordinary soils.
4.6 Climatic data from secondary sources
CLIMATE Warm humid subtropical climate with cool, dry winters from December to February and
dry, hot summers from April to June. The rainy season is from mid-June to mid-September Inwinter the maximum temperature is around 25° Celsius and the minimum is in the 4° to 8° Celsiusrange. Fog is quite common from late December to late January. Summers are very hot withtemperatures rising to the 40° to 45° Celsius range.

Brick earth reserves have been estimated as per standard procedures. The area of mining
land (as per agreement details) and average thickness of mineral(not more than 2 m) is multiplied to
get the volume. 10% area wise wide berm will be left all along the periphery of mining land to get
the area available for actual mining. About 10% mining losses reserves blocked due to slope has
been considered to get the mineable quantity. Detail of calculation is given below:

5.1 Planning conceptThe proposed project is to mine brick clay from plot(s) sustainably and scientifically. The
minor mineral (clay) will be excavated from the plot(s) as per mining rules and casting of raw
bricks will be done which will be transported to the kiln through horse cart, trolleys etc. through
village chak roads. Mining will be opencast Manual keeping nearby plot(s) unaffected. Maximum
depth of mining will be only upto 2 m as per agreement.
5.2 Population projectionThe project will employ the workers from nearby villages. There will not be any increase in
population due to the project.
5.3 Landuse planningThe land use of the mine lease area is agricultural and there will be no change in landuse
after operation. The ultimate land use of the mine lease area will not be change. Extracted mineral
will be used in casting raw bricks which will be transported directly to the kiln, the workers will be
hired locally and temporarily, no housing facility will be required.
5.4 Assessment of Infrastructure DemandExtracted mineral will be casted into raw bricks and will be transported directly to the
owned kiln, there will be no stock yard required for storage, also the workers will be hired locally
and temporarily, no housing facility will be required.
5.5 Amenities/facilitiesDrinking water and first aid facility will be made available to the mine workers.
6. PROPOSED INFRASTRUCTURE6.1 Industrial area (Processing Area)
No industrial area is proposed.
6.2 Residential area (Non Processing Area)
The project will employ most of the workers from nearby villages. So, no housing facility is
required.
6.3 Green belt
It is proposed to plant trees along the road sides and nearby civic amenities in consultation
with district administration.

6.4 Connectivity
There are metalled roads and unmetalled at the project site.
6.5 Social Infrastructure
Temporary rest shelters, drinking water and first aid facility are made available to the mine
workers with all the required medicines and vaccines.
6.6 Drinking Water Management
Water for drinking is required to be 0.80 KLD. It is proposed to obtain water from
construction/potable water from tanker supplier.
6.7 Sewerage SystemNo sewerage system is proposed at the mine site.
6.8 Industrial Waste ManagementNot applicable.
6.9 Solid Waste management No solid waste generation is expected from the miningoperation.
6.10 Power Requirement & Supply/ Source All the activities will be carried out manually. Theoperation will be restricted to day time only; hence there is no power requirement for the project atsite.7. REHABILITATION AND RESETTLEMENT (R&R) PLAN

8. PROJECT SCHEDULE & COST ESTIMATESThe project will commence once Environmental Clearance and other necessary certificates
are obtained from the respective departments. The total cost of project would be approx Rs. 14 lacs
for 1 years.

CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) details for the Project
CSR plan is given below:-

CSR cost for the project, i.e. 5 % of the total project cost

R & R Plan is not applicable for the project as the area . The Area is non Agricultural land. Local people will be employed for excavation work. Economic and social of status of the local people will be improved after excavation work.

9.0 ANALYSIS OF PROPOSAL ( FINAL RECOMMENDATION)
Overall the project will have positive and long term impact on environment. The project
will also bring positive changes in terms of socio economic development by way of generating
direct and indirect employment opportunities to the people of vicinity.
The project will also help to make the field cultivable land otherwise may lead to change the
shape of the field to a raised land making area unusable for agriculture.
Also the project will bring economical benefit to the state in terms of revenue generation.
