Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana is a scheme for comprehensive financial conclussion launched by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi on 28 August 2014

What is Jan Dhan Yojna ?

It is a new scheme launched in india under which every indian family will be wnrollled in bank for operating zero balance account.

Why Jan Dhan Yojna ?

The bank account will be the first step to eradicate the current financial untouchability from the system.

Once the families have a bank account they get connected to the vechicle of economy.

This can be a source to better economic country.

Purpose The main purpose of this scheme is

to enrolling over 7.5 crore (75 million) households and to open their accounts. A bank account for each household was a "national priority".

Each family will have a bank account opened in the countries best bank free of cost and easily.

Services,Ministry of Finance, on the inauguration day, 1.5 Crore (15 million) bank accounts were opened under this scheme.

By 28 January 2015, 12.58 crore accounts were opened, with around 10590 crore (US$1.7 billion) were deposited.

Total 11.16 crore account opened by 20th january 2015.

Special achievement On 20th January 2015, the

scheme entered into Guinness book of world records setting new record for 'The most bank accounts opened in one week'.

Documents required to open an account underIf Aadhaar Card/Aadhaar Number

is available then no other documents is required.

If not then Voter ID Card, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport.

If a person does not have any of the officially valid documents, �Letter issued by a gazette officer, with a duly attested photograph of the person.
