Teachers either through theoretical or experiential knowledge build upon their previous knowledge. (Wallace, J 1991)
Reflection/ re evaluation of teaching, empowers teachers to become problem solvers and decision makers by linking theory, practice with their students’ results. (American Federation of Teachers 2002).
A group which comes together voluntarily in order to share and enhance understanding about theory and practice. (Birchak, Connor, et al, 1998)
It is a specific type of professional development which is collaborative in nature. The benefits are empowerment, collaboration , fulfilling needs and examining teaching and learning. (Cayuso, Fegan, & McAlister, 2004).
