1. On the day, we came up with different variations that we wanted to include with the post it notes. As well as using our original idea of having the time and date we also added the love interests address on a post it note, to continue the stalker traits.

2. This shot remained the same to the original as a point of view shot.

3. When producing our original storyboard, we were not entirely certain of the doll’s equipment that we would be using. We therefore knew on the day of filming that we would want to show the girl playing with the doll’s items to mimic the boys actions. When filming we thought it would be a good idea for the girl to manipulate similar objects to the boy so that when edited these would correspond.

4. It was only during editing, that this shot was matched to follow shot 3 and both the girl and the boy’s actions correspond in the sequence. From the way in which the sequence is edited, it is clear that the actions of the girl represents the boys actions and transition.

7. When it came to filming, we had a general shot of showing the boy shaving in the bathroom. However we improvised on the day with additional shot of him putting the shaving foam on and then a shot of him shaving in the following shot.

8.

9. This shot remained exactly as planned as we have the boy walking up to the camera, effectively looking into the camera like it is a mirror.

14. We focused on the placement of each individual object more than intended so that when edited each item would build up the picture of his tidiness demonstrating his personality, when placed one after another.

15. This shot was slightly altered as we had originally intended to show the boy waiting by the front door only from behind however on the day we thought it would be appropriate the show his emotion as he waits.

16. We have then cut back to the boys final preparations and choose to have the boy pouring icing sugar on the cake. This method to decoration for the cake was decided on the day however before filming we did know that we wanted to show him decorating the cake.

20. When editing we decided to show a shot of the doll waiting at the table for the date to represent that the dolls actions are happening to him. From the shot of the boy in reality followed by the shot of the dolls its is clear that the boy as been stood up.

21. Cut to the boy looking at the time

22. Cut back to the post it note of time the date is meant to arrive

23. Following this we have a shot of the boy throwing his jacket on the floor as a result of his anger. This was thought of on the day.

24. After completing a first draft there were gaps in our piece so we filmed additional footage. We therefore choose to add more parts of the boy outside after his reaction to the previous events.

25. It was only during editing that we choose to have two destroying shoots of items relating to the date together. We therefore choose to have the shot of the toy table and chairs being knocked down after the boy has thrown of his jacket. When placed together these shots therefore emphasise the boys anger.

26. This shot was additional to our storyboard as we needed more footage to fit the song. We choose to have the boy walking to a location which is later clarified at the end of the music video.

27. Cut to the boys anger then cut to a point of view shot 28. These shots where brought together during editing by a match on action shot.

28. On our original storyboard we had a really broad image of ‘cake destruction’. We were uncertain of how this would translate however we knew we wanted to show the boy destroying the cake. On the day we choose to use a low angle shot to heighten his aggression and to have the cake thrown in the direction of the camera.

29. Cut to boy walking outside and then return to the boy inside the house falling back onto the floor 30. It was only on the day that we choose to have the layout of the table in the shot as the boy falls back crying.

Page 12: Post production story board

31. Remained exactly as planned.

32. When editing the beats show two bangs and highpoints in the music which fitted perfectly to the boy banging on the sink. It was therefore only during editing that we choose to match this shot to the two beats in the music

33.

34. This shot was additionally thought of during post production as we filmed extra footage. We therefore choose to show the boy effectively ruining his shrine of the girl as part of the process of destruction.

Page 14: Post production story board

35. This shot was originally going to be a closing shot for our music video of having the door slamming however we choose to add more to the storyline after this shot. 36. Boy walking down the street. Shot from Behind. Appears somewhat silhouetted as we choose to film this in the evening.

37. Choose to use 2 jump cuts to speed up the pace of his walking but to also indicate the consequently the boy is walking a far distance. This was thought of during post production as we realised we needed additional footage.

40.

41. During post production, we choose, to have the post it note of where the girl lives lightly over the shot of the boy arriving at the girls house as a clear indication of where the boy has been walking to.

42. This was not planned however we choose to show the boys arrival at the girls house and showed a long shot of the boy standing at the gates of her house which portrays his stalker characteristics.

Page 16: Post production story board

43. The boy further walking to the second location was only though of during post production. We chose to use a medium shot of the boy walking directly towards the camera.

44. It was only during editing that we choose to match another shot of the boys footsteps in order to indicate that he is travelling a long distance.

45. The Final break of the doll then indicates that his character is ‘damaged’ and effectively broken.

Page 17: Post production story board

46. This shot therefore makes it clear that the boy has arrived at the girls house by showing the image of the girl in front of the second location. The music appears to calm down from the climax of the music and it is clear that the boy is seriously depressed!

47.

48. We then choose to have the boy checking windows, portraying him as even more of a stalker than we had originally intended.

Page 18: Post production story board

49. We then choose to have the boy throwing her picture into the river. This section has connotations of suicide however it is avoided. This shot is calmed with the shot that follows to somewhat relieve the audience as the feel sorry for his character and the emotional damage that he is going through.

50. We were filming into the late evening on the second day of filming which worked to our advantage as the dark shot of the boy from behind shows him walking into the darkness somewhat demonstrating that the boy ha entered a different state of mind. Following this we have the boy fading into the distance.

Page 19: Post production story board

51. This shot of the boy flicking the broken head away we only chosen during editing and appears creepy and eerie but effectively demonstrates that the boys character is ‘destroyed.’

52. Choose to end our music video with the boy knocking at the girls door. This differs greatly from our original story board of ending with the boy texting the girl and asking where she is.
