Inmate Christmas Sack Program Each year the prison chaplains put together sacks of nuts, candy, homemade fudge and cards for the inmates of our SD prisons.
Use only this recipe for the fudge. You can pick up a copy of the recipe and instructions for cards from small children in the back of the church. The drop off dates, Dec. 14-18 at East Side Lutheran Church, 1300 E. 10th St., Sioux Falls, SD or St. Michael Catholic Church, 1600 S. Marion Rd, Sioux Falls, SD during business hours. A new Catholic Young Leaders Institute is starting in Sioux Falls at the Cathedral joint sponsored by the Cathedral parish & the Catholic Men's Business Fraternity. It will be an opportunity for Catholic college aged adults from the area to get together at Christmas break & in the summer to socialize, receive leadership formation, stay connected to their Catholic faith, network with business leaders in town, & give back to the community through service. If you have a college age student that would be interested have them save the date of Tues., Dec. 29 in their calendar for the first evening gathering.

Bishop Hoch Scholarship 2016-2017 The Diocese awards a $1,000.00 scholarship in each of the seven deaneries, to enable a student to attend either Mount Marty College in Yankton or Presentation College in Aberdeen. Applications are being accepted for the 2016-2017 school year. The scholarships are available to new students, students already in college and non-traditional students interested in attending or already attending Mount Marty and Presentation Colleges.
