BrochureDescription:Brochure that I made with my custom designed logo.

Date:12.5.15

Class/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 01Cory Kerr

Programs/Tools:Adobe Illustrator and InDesign

Objectives:To create a brochure to showcase an event of our choosing.

Process:I sketched out my brainstormed ideas on paper first. Then I created a digital rough draft in Illustrator. Lastly I transferred the design to InDesign for the final product. I decided to go with monochromatic blue because I felt the audience was a starightforward claen group. That is why this brochure is simple and to the point. It draws you in by its easiness on the eyes.

Programs/Tools:Adobe Illustrator

Objectives:To create a logo that is clean, simple, and represents the organization well, while becoming attention grabbing to the audience.

Process: I researched design inspiration from many websites to gain ideas for my de-sign. I sketched out many possibilities. I then asked for my friends opinions on which one they preferred. Once I made a conclusion, I drew up the design in Illustrator.

Business CardDescription:A professional business card to represent an organization of our choosing.

Date:11.7.15

Class/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 01Cory Kerr

Programs/Tools:Adobe Illustrator

Objectives:To create a professional business card that helps a consumer to remember our organization.

Process: I designed the logo first by revising a previous logo I had made. Then I based the whole design concept off of the speech bubble. I wanted there to be consistance and rememborability. It was meant to e clean and simple.

LetterheadDescription:A paired activity with the business card; it was meant to represent an organization of our choosing.

Date:11.7.15

Class/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 01Cory Kerr

Programs/Tools:Adobe Illustrator

Objectives:To develop a letterhead that would be consistant with my business card and equally well represent iTalk.

Process: I developed the business card first. I took the simple design elements from that to make a very professional document. I decided since the card was so simple that the letterhead should have as little as possible on it.

MontageDescription:A project to help me utilize the masking tool on Illustrator.

Date:10.24.15

Class/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 01Cory Kerr

Programs/Tools:Adobe Illustrator

Objectives:To express a personal ideal through a masking document.

Process: I had completley different design for my rough draft that I developed with a friend. Then with another friend I decided to do this design. It came about after some intense brainstorming. I based the design off of the quote and then made the whole deign element “skethy”. I inserted an image I found and down-loaded font that fit better with the image. I also faded in the texture of the background.

ImagingDescription:A flier that was meant to be calming to help attract consumers who were suf-fering with depression.

Date:10.17.15

Class/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 01Cory Kerr

Programs/Tools:Microsoft Word

Objectives:To allow us an opportunity to use a camera and impliment photography into a design element.

Process: I asked my friend who does photography to help me with this one. She was able to explain some basic photo principle to me. Then we went on an adnevture to the Rexburg temple to find some picture opportunities. I took this picture at the western base of a bench. Then my friend helped me enhance the image in Lightroom.

Event AdDescription:This is my ad for a campaign to raise money by the USO. I chose this organi-zation because it is a real organization that Bob Hope (the picture) supports. I also found the “Bob Hope Theater” to host the event, which is located in Stockton, CA.

Date:10.10.15

Class/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 01

Programs/Tools:Microsoft Word

Objectives:To allow us to learn how to use a well scanned image as a design element.

Process: I used Word per request of the assignment. I scanned in the image of Bob Hope from the 2007 Time book. I chose the black and white scheme because I am targeting older people, so I felt it went with the theme. The font is larger to make it easier for them to read. The text is all aligned on the left side with Bob looking at it to showcase the information. The USO logo is the only thing in color so you know who is supporting the event.

FlierDescription:Black and white flier focused toward PR majors to get them to attend a gradu-ate conference.

Date:10.3.15

Class/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 01Cory Kerr

Programs/Tools:Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

Objectives:To get our feet wet into the Adobe world. It was to give us a basic feel for where our digital imaging skills stood.

Process: I did a sketch brainstorm beforehand. I researched PR advertisements to find what they typically lean towards. I saw that they tended to be very clean, with lots of angles, and very simple. I chose to accent the important information with seriffed larger fonts. I positioned the fonts in a way that the flow goes in a zig-zag from most important to least important information. I used the image of the woman to draw people in from a distance to the image.

Date:11.21.15

Class/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 01 Cory Kerr

Programs/Tools:TextWrangler, CSS, HTML

Objectives:To give me a basic understanding of web page coding.

Process: I had previously created the logo in Adobe illustrator. Then I edited an HTML document to have the text content of the webpage. Lastly, I edited the look of the page in CSS. I did this by centering my logo. I changed the colors of the text to match my logo. Then I inserted a grey-line background to accent the text square.
