Introduction
Come on in...... And start enjoying the extrapleasures of a chlorine-free swimmingpool. If you’re converting your poolfrom chlorine, you’ll be amazed howeasy it is with BAQUACIL swimmingpool sanitiser and its companionproducts. If you already use BAQUACILin your pool, take some time tofamiliarise yourself with the extendedsystem of products. If you’re starting anew pool, just get ready to have fun.BAQUACIL is an effective chlorine-freepolymeric sanitiser derived from thesame basic chemistry found in anumber of pharmaceutical andcosmetic products. In fact, the activeingredient is actually used in contactlens cleaning solutions.
BAQUACIL combats a wide variety ofmicroorganisms as it sanitises thewater and, working in conjunction withyour pool filter, it helps to polish thewater through its flocculating action.Because of its complex chemicalstructure, BAQUACIL is extremelystable. So, unlike halogen sanitisers,chlorine and bromine, BAQUACIL is not
affected by sunlight, temperature or pHfluctuations. This stability gives youtwo important benefits. Firstly,BAQUACIL provides better and moreconsistent control of bacteria.Secondly, your pool needs lessmonitoring, usually only once a week,leaving you more leisure time.
Finally, BAQUACIL eliminates many ofthe problems associated with chlorine,such as the bleaching of hair, fabrics orvinyl liners, and you’ll be far less likelyto experience skin or eye irritation.
This Pool Care Guide is full ofinformation about starting up andmaintaining your pool with BAQUACILand its companion products. Spend alittle time reading it now; you’ll soonhave a lot more time to enjoy yourpool.
If you need additional help when takingcare of your pool, talk to your retailer ofBAQUACIL. You’ll be given the adviceyou need to help you get the mostenjoyment out of your pool.
ImportantBAQUACIL is ideal for domestic swimming pools but is not
recommended for use in spa baths or in those pools fitted
with an aeration device.
Some school, hotel and club pools in which the bathing load
is normally higher than domestic pools may not be suitable
for treatment with BAQUACIL. Please contact your retailer of
BAQUACIL for advice.

Safety
Chemical products are necessary to control bacteria and algae andto maximise the life of your pool and its equipment. However, inconcentrated form, chemicals can be hazardous. Always handleand use them with care. Always refer to the safety and handlinginformation on the label of each product before use. Here are afew good general suggestions to follow.
■ Keep all containers of chemicals inan upright position.
■ In case of a spillage or accidentalcontact, follow the label directions.
■ Keep all chemicals out of reach ofchildren.
■ Store chemicals in a cool,well-ventilated area away fromcombustible materials. Do not storechemicals in a motor vehicle.
■ Never mix concentrated chemicals
together. Always add them
separately.
■ Always add chemicals to water;
never add water to chemicals.
■ Keep containers closed when not inuse, and use each cap only with itsown container.
■ Avoid contact with the skin or eyes.Wear eye protection and rubbergloves when handling concentratedchemicals.
■ In case of skin or eye contact oraccidental swallowing, follow theadvice on the label.
■ Keep concentrated chemicals awayfrom lawns and plants.
■ Dispose of empty containerscarefully. Do not pour anydispensed product back into thecontainer. Do not re-use an emptycontainer.
Don’t forgetIn the event of an accident with any pool chemical always
follow the treatment advice on the container.
Note: BAQUA SHOCK swimming pool clarifier is astrong oxidiser. Its container has a vented cap whichshould not be changed. Storing the container on itsside or upside down may result in leakage or rupture.This could start a fire if it comes into contact withcombustible material. Always triple-rinse the bottle inpool water before you dispose of it.

Converting your pool water totreatment with BAQUACIL
Whether your pool is freshly filled with water, or currently sanitisedwith another product, changing to treatment with BAQUACIL is easy.Just follow these simple steps.
Freshly-filled pools1. Brush and vacuum your pool and
run the filter for 24 hours, especiallyif the pool water is dirty after initialfilling.
2. After 24 hours, clean or backwash thefilter. If it has not been chemicallycleaned in the past 6 months, useBAQUA CLEAN filter cleaner. If asand filter is fitted in which the sandis more than 3 years old, it isrecommended that the sand isrenewed at this stage.
3. Calculate the volume of your pool sothat you can determine the rightamount of chemicals to use. (SeeCalculating your pool volume onpage 22.)
4. Take a sample of the pool water toyour retailer of BAQUACIL foranalysis. (See page 21 for Watersampling tips.)
Please follow your retailer’srecommendations to balance yourpool water correctly. (See Waterbalance section on page 10.) If yourretailer finds that your pool watercontains metals, add BAQ OUTchelating agent.
5. With the pump running, pour thestart-up dose of BAQUACIL into thewater in the region of the inlet.(See the Start-up dosages chart onpage 7.)
6. Add the start-up dose ofBAQUA CHECK.
7. Run the filter continuously for 24 hours.
8. Check that the level of BAQUACIL isabout 50 ppm (parts per million).Adjust the level if necessary with atop-up dose of BAQUACIL. (See theTop-up dosage rates for BAQUACILon page 9.)
9. The pool is now ready for use.
Note: Don’t be alarmed if the water becomes cloudy atany time during this operation. This cloudiness confirmsthat BAQUACIL is at work taking dissolved substancesout of solution. Eventually, these substances will betrapped on the filter, which must be cleaned. This“scavenging action” of BAQUACIL results in water ofhigh clarity. The water should clear within 48 hours. If asand filter is installed, a BAQUA FLOC tablet may beadded to the skimmer to accelerate the clearing process.

Converting pools treated withchlorine1. Remove the chlorine source, i.e.
cyanurate pills, electrolytic system,or make no further additions ofgranular or liquid chlorine.
2. To neutralise the chlorine in yourpool water, dissolve BAQUA STARTchlorine neutraliser in a bucket ofwarm water and pour the solutioninto the pool. (See the Start-updosages chart on this page.)
3. Run the filter for about 8 hours.
4. Check the chlorine level with your testkit. If any is detected repeat step 2.
5. When the chlorine level is zero,follow the procedures given underFreshly-filled pools, steps 4 to 9 onpage 6.
Converting pools treated withother chemicals or devicesIf your pool is treated with a sanitiserother than chlorine or bromine, or asanitising device, consult your retailer.
Converting marble plaster poolsMarble plaster pools are susceptible tostaining and before starting a new poolor converting to treatment withBAQUACIL, consult your retailer.

Pool routine during theswimming season
Now you have started treating your pool with BAQUACIL you willsoon begin to appreciate the high standards of bather comfort andthe clear, safe water it provides together with the reduction infrequent monitoring and chemical additions which can be associatedwith other pool sanitisers.
The three principal components of the system are BAQUACIL,BAQUA CHECK and BAQUA SHOCK, which complement each otherto provide maximum pool protection. Here’s how easy it is to usethem.
Weekly careAs with any pool treatment, normalhousekeeping such as brushing andvacuuming the pool surfaces andbackwashing the filter if necessary mustbe carried out. Use BAQUA BRITE tileand liner cleaner, if needed, to cleanaround the tile line and skimmer box.
Test your pool water (see page 13) tocheck that the levels of BAQUACIL andpH are within the acceptable ranges.The level of BAQUACIL should bebetween 25 and 50 ppm. When thelevel is around 25 ppm, add sufficientBAQUACIL to bring the level up to50 ppm (see the Top-up dosage ratesfor BAQUACIL on page 9). Never allowthe level to fall below 25 ppm, becausebelow this level algae and bacteria maynot be controlled adequately.
The pH of the water should bemaintained between 7.2 and 7.8 formaximum bather comfort.
Algae can ruin your pool’s appearance,make your pool walls slippery andunsafe, and clog your filter. Amaintenance dose of BAQUA CHECKalgicide added every week will helpprevent the growth of algae (see theMaintenance dosages on page 9).
Remember, solving algal problems is
more costly and time-consuming than
preventing them.

Monthly careIn addition to the normal weeklyroutine, add BAQUA SHOCK swimmingpool clarifier once a month (see theMaintenance dosages on this page);this treatment is necessary to help tomaintain the sparkle of your pool water.The accumulation of swimmer wastesinvisible to the eye, such asperspiration, urine and cosmeticproducts, can cause eye and skinirritation and provide algae with plentyof food. Adding BAQUA SHOCK andproviding adequate filtration will takecare of these undesirable wastematerials, keeping your pool waterbeautifully clear and sparkling.
BAQUA SHOCK should be added bycarefully pouring the liquid directly intothe pool over the water inlets with thefilter running. Allow BAQUA SHOCK todisperse throughout the pool waterbefore swimming. Remember to followthe important safety instructions on thecontainer. Rinse and properly disposeof the container immediately after use.

General pool care
BAQUACIL makes pool care easy. Even so, there are certain basicthings you should do regularly to avoid problems with your pool.These include: housekeeping, water balance, and sanitisation/clarification.
Housekeeping■ Vacuum and brush your pool weekly.■ Run the filter for at least 8 to 12
hours a day during the season,longer during periods of heavy useor after heavy rain.
■ In addition to routine backwashing,clean the filter twice during theseason with BAQUA CLEAN filtercleaner to keep it operating atmaximum efficiency.
■ Clean your pool at the waterline withBAQUA BRITE when necessary.
Water balance■ Check pH every week.■ If possible, take a pool water sample
to your retailer of BAQUACIL once amonth during the season foranalysis, or after a significantamount of top-up water has beenadded.
Sanitisation/Clarification■ Check the level of BAQUACIL once a
week.■ If the BAQUACIL level is around
25 ppm, bring it back to 50 ppm.■ Add a maintenance dose of
BAQUA CHECK every week.■ Add BAQUA SHOCK once a month.
Adding chemicals safelyWhen adding chemicals, always read the label for specific
instructions.
Many chemicals are added by spreading them around the
water’s edge, or over the water inlets while the filter is
running.
Never mix chemicals; always add them separately.
Add only the amount of chemical specified.

Closing your pool forthe winter
If you live in an area where you have to close your pool for thewinter, you need to close it fully to protect it. Always follow yourpool manufacturer’s instructions to protect your pool structure. Tohelp to keep the water in good condition here are some simple stepsyou should take.
1. Perform all necessaryhousekeeping actions
■ Brush and vacuum your poolthoroughly. Clean around thewaterline, as well as the skimmerbox, using BAQUA BRITE.
■ Additionally, clean the skimmerbasket and the pump’s strainerbasket.
2. Check your water balance■ Take a sample of your water to your
retailer of BAQUACIL for analysis.Follow the recommendations andmake any adjustments to the waterbalance that may be needed.
3. Sanitise and clarify the water■ Add a maintenance dose of BAQUA
SHOCK.■ Top up the level of BAQUACIL to
50 ppm.■ Add BAQUA WINTER following the
instructions on the label.■ Run the filter for 8 to 12 hours to
make sure that the chemicals havebeen thoroughly dispersed in thepool water.
4. Backwash and clean your filterwith BAQUA CLEAN
■ Never leave the filter dirty when youclose down your pool, becausedeposits may harden during thewinter, leaving you with a moredifficult job in the spring.BAQUA CLEAN will remove organicand mineral deposits, leaving yourfilter ready for the start-up in spring.
Note: It is advisable to use a well-fitting cover to keepleaves and other airborne debris out of the water.

Opening your pool forthe season
Even though you may not be planning to swim in early spring, thetemperature of your pool water is rising making the conditions morefavourable for the growth of algae and bacteria. This is the time toopen your pool for the season. If your pool has already beenconverted to BAQUACIL, and the instructions for closing it werefollowed, it’s easy; just follow these simple steps.
1. Opening■ Take the cover off the pool and store
it safely.■ Top up the pool with fresh water, if
necessary.■ Check that the pump and filter are in
working order.
2. Housekeeping■ Brush and vacuum the pool
thoroughly to remove any debristhat has entered the pool during thewinter.
3. Filtration■ Run the filter for at least 24 hours,
then clean or backwash it. If you didnot clean the filter before closing thepool, use BAQUA CLEAN now.
4. Water balance■ Take a water sample to your retailer
of BAQUACIL for analysis. If theanalysis shows there are traces ofmetals in the water, treat the poolwith BAQ OUT.
■ Make any necessary water balanceadjustments.
5. Sanitise and clarify your poolwater
■ Top up the BAQUACIL level to50 ppm.
■ Add a maintenance dose ofBAQUA CHECK.
■ Add a maintenance dose ofBAQUA SHOCK.
6. Resume your normalweekly/monthly routines
■ Remember to have your waterbalance checked once a monthduring the season by your retailer ofBAQUACIL.

BAQUA TEST Strips
The level of BAQUACIL and the pH value of the pool water shouldbe checked weekly and adjusted if necessary. The ideal values are50 ppm BAQUACIL and pH 7.2 to 7.8. The total alkalinity of the poolwater can also be measured using BAQUA TEST Strips; theacceptable range is 80 to 140 ppm.
How to use BAQUA TEST Strips1. Remove a BAQUA Test Strip from
the bottle and replace cap tightly.Dip the strip horizontally into thepool water for one second andremove. Do not “swish” the stripback and forth as this will affect theaccuracy of the test.
2. Hold the strip level, pad side up, for15 seconds. Do not shake excesswater from the strip.
3. Hold the strip horizontally andcompare the BAQUACIL, pH andtotal alkalinity pads to thecorresponding colour blocks on theBAQUA TEST Strip bottle label. Thecolour chart will tell you whether ornot your BAQUACIL, pH and totalalkalinity are at the appropriatelevels.
If the level of BAQUACIL is judged tobe about or below 25 ppm, add atop-up dose. (See the Top-updosage rates for BAQUACIL onpage 9.)Never allow the level ofBAQUACIL to fall below 25 ppm.

Tips for best resultsAlways dry your hands before removing BAQUA TESTStrips from the bottle.Replace and tighten the lid immediately after removinga strip to help keep the rest fresh.Store the strips in a cool, dry place.Leave the packet of drying agent in the bottle.Always compare the colours in natural daylight.

Keeping your pool waterin good condition
Water balanceThe water you use to fill your pool israrely in balance. It can be eitherscale-forming or corrosive. Water thatis neither corrosive nor scale-forming iscalled “balanced water”. This is theideal water for your pool as itmaximises bather comfort and protectsthe pool equipment from corrosion andscale deposits.
The consequences of unbalanced water
If your pool water is unbalanced and“hard”, scale, similar to that found inkettles, can form in the pool filter,pipework, heater and, in extreme cases,even on the pool floor and walls.“Hard” unbalanced water can also bethe cause of cloudiness.
If the water in your pool is unbalancedand “soft”, corrosion of metal poolaccessories, plaster and concrete mayoccur. Eye and skin irritation and a highconsumption of sanitising chemicalsmay also be noticed.
In either situation, balancing of the poolwater will make swimming morepleasant and prolong the life of yourpool and its equipment.
Balancing the water
Your retailer of BAQUACIL can carry outthe necessary tests and advise you howto balance your pool water with theBAQUACARE range of water balanceproducts.
To be in balance, pool water shouldmeet all of the following criteria:
■ pH: 7.2 to 7.8■ Total alkalinity: 80 to 140 ppm■ Calcium hardness: 180 to 250 ppm■ Total dissolved solids: less than
1,500 ppm

pH controlpH is simply a measure of the acidity orbasicity of the pool water. The scale forpH ranges from 0 to 14.
At a pH reading of 7.0, water is perfectlyneutral. Readings above 7.0 show thatthe water has more basicity. Readingsbelow 7.0 mean that the water hasmore acidity. For good bather comfort,swimming pool water should have justa little basicity to give it a pH readingbetween 7.2 and 7.8.
Every week check the pH of your poolwater and adjust it to within the advisedlimits with BAQUACARE pH increaseror pH decreaser.
Total alkalinity controlThe amount of alkalinity in the watercan also affect bather comfort. Just asimportant is its influence on the pHlevel of the water. A high alkalinity willconstantly push the pH readingsupwards after adjustment, while lowalkalinity can promote pool corrosion,and cause “pH bounce”, which is alarge change in the pH reading after theadjustment chemicals are added.
The ideal value of total alkalinity is 80 to140 ppm.
Calcium hardness controlLow calcium hardness levels in the poolwater will promote corrosion.
High levels of calcium hardness cancause scaling and cloudy water.
The ideal calcium hardness content is180 to 250 ppm.

Control of metalsIt is quite common to find dissolvedmetals in pool water. Usually they arepresent in the source water butsometimes they are present as a resultof corrosion and erosion of metalpool-fixtures.
They can cause staining of poolsurfaces and inhibit the performance ofwater sanitisers. Ideally, there shouldbe no free dissolved metals in the poolwater.
If metals are detected in your poolwater by your retailer of BAQUACIL,BAQ OUT should be used to“sequester” them, rendering themineffective and harmless.

Problem solving
BAQUACIL was developed to provide clear, comfortable and safepool water without the inconvenience and irritations of ordinarychlorine-based systems. Even so, problems may occur occasionallyand the remedial treatments are often not the same as those for achlorine-treated pool. Here are some helpful solutions. If you haveany questions consult your retailer of BAQUACIL.
Algae
Light algal growthShould patchy growths of algae appearon the sides and bottom of the poolfollow these steps:
1. Brush the pool walls and floor dailyand run the filter continuously.
2. Check the level of BAQUACIL andtop up to 50 ppm.
3. Add a maintenance dose ofBAQUA CHECK.
4. Add a maintenance dose ofBAQUA SHOCK.
5. After 48 hours vacuum the pool towaste to remove the algal debrisand clean the filter if necessary.
Heavy algal growthShould the algal growth be visiblethroughout the water follow thesesteps:
1. Brush the pool walls and floor dailyduring this treatment.
2. Add a maintenance dose ofBAQUA CHECK.
3. Add a double maintenance dose ofBAQUA SHOCK (200 ppm).
4. Run the pool filter continuously untilthe pool water is clear. The timetaken for the pool to clear can bereduced by adding a BAQUA FLOCtablet to the skimmer if your pool isequipped with a sand filter.
5. When the bottom of the poolbecomes visible, vacuum the pool towaste and backwash the filterthoroughly.
6. Check the level of BAQUACIL andadjust to 50 ppm.
7. If the pool water does not clearwithin 72 hours carry out a fullflocculation treatment with BAQUAFLOC liquid swimming poolflocculant.
Note: It is extremely important to brush the pool walls and
floor before chemical treatment and daily thereafter as long
as algae are present.

FoamMost often, foam results from a simplemechanical defect such as air leakinginto the plumbing, usually on thesuction side of the pump. Therefore iffoam is present on the surface of thepool when it is not in use it’s a goodidea to check for air leaks first.
Another common cause of foaming is alow calcium hardness level in the poolwater. This results in the production ofexcessive foam when the pool is in use.In this case, a sample of your poolwater should be analysed by yourretailer of BAQUACIL for water balanceadvice.
If there are no air leaks, and the calciumhardness level is satisfactory, this mayindicate high levels of BAQUACIL(above 50 ppm) or BAQUA CHECK inthe water, especially if accompanied bya dry or almond-like taste. To reducethe levels, partially empty your pooland top up with fresh water.
If the tests show your pool water iswithin all the correct ranges, BAQUABURST defoamer can be used.
Waterline depositsOrganic debris such as suntan andbody oils tend to accumulate aroundthe waterline of all swimming pools.Owing to the flocculating nature ofBAQUACIL you may have slightlyheavier deposits than with chlorinetreatments, especially during the firstfew weeks after converting toBAQUACIL. You can clean the waterline“ring” easily by using BAQUA BRITEtile and liner cleaner.
Cloudy waterThe cause of the majority of cloudyswimming pool water problems isinadequate filtration. If your filter is toodirty or clogged it can’t operateeffectively and often backwashing aloneis not sufficient to restore its efficiency.That’s why it is recommended that youclean your filter with BAQUA CLEAN atleast twice during the swimmingseason and again before closing thepool for winter. This product has beenspecially formulated for the cleaning ofsand, diatomaceous earth and syntheticcartridge filters.
As well as following the filtermanufacturer’s instructions, you mayfind the following advice useful to keepyour filter working efficiently:

General■ Operate the filter for at least 8 hours
each day even if the pool is notbeing used. If your pool has ahigher than normal “family-size”bathing load increase the filtrationtime.
■ Never circulate the pool waterthrough the surface skimmer only.The water must flow through thedeep-end drain for efficient filtration.
■ Ensure that the eye-ball returns aredirected downwards and towardsthe main drain to improvecirculation.
■ Make sure that your filter isequipped with a pressure gauge andthat it is working correctly.
Sand filters■ Only backwash your sand filter when
the pressure gauge has risen to thelevel indicated in the instructions foryour filter. In fact, backwashing toofrequently can reduce the efficiencyof most sand filters.
■ The sand in the filter wears with timeand as a general guide should bereplaced every 3 years.
Diatomaceous earth filters■ Remember it is the diatomaceous
earth (D.E.) that provides thefiltration and not the fabric screens.Do not run your D.E. filter withoutthe correct amount of D.E. powderotherwise the screens will block.
■ Cleaning D.E. filters by backwashingis not always effective. It is better toremove the screens and wash off thespent D.E with a jet of water from ahose pipe.
Cartridge filters■ Only cartridges made from synthetic
materials are recommended to beused since those made from paperare not easily cleaned.
■ The most convenient way ofoperating a cartridge filter is to usetwo sets. This will allow one set tobe cleaned, by firstly hosing it withwater and then soaking it in BAQUACLEAN whilst the other set is in use.
Treating cloudy water1. Check that the filter is working and
being used effectively by followingthe advice given earlier in thissection.
2. Check that the pump is workingcorrectly.
3. Check and top up the level ofBAQUACIL to 50 ppm if necessary.
4. If the pool is equipped with a sandfilter place a BAQUA FLOC tablet inthe skimmer basket.
5. Filter the pool water continuously.6. If the water clarity does not improve
within 72 hours perform a fullflocculation treatment withBAQUA FLOC liquid.

Eye irritationPool water treated with BAQUACIL ismuch less likely to cause eye irritationthan water treated with chlorine-basedproducts. Eye irritation, like an allergy,is a personal thing but if severalswimmers experience irritation youshould check the level of BAQUACILand ask your retailer of BAQUACIL tocarry out a full water analysis. If thewater is in balance but the BAQUACILlevel exceeds 50 ppm you shouldreduce the level by partially emptyingthe pool and topping it up with freshwater.
TasteToo much BAQUACIL can make theswimming pool water taste dry andbitter; too much BAQUA CHECK cangive the water an almond-like taste andsmell. If either of these tastes occur thelevels of the chemicals will needreducing. To do this, partially emptyyour pool then refill with fresh water.

Water sampling tips
There may be times when you need totake a water sample to your retailer ofBAQUACIL for professional analysis,for example, after you add a significantamount of new water, or after heavyrain. In fact, if possible it’s a good ideato take a sample to your retailer ofBAQUACIL about once a month duringthe season. Here are a few guidelinesto help ensure a good water sample:
1. The size of your water sampleshould be around 500 millilitres(0.5 litre).
2. Take your sample about half a metrebelow the surface, and away fromthe skimmer or filter returns.
3. Take the sample in a clean, dry,plastic container.
4. Take the sample to your retailer ofBAQUACIL without delay.
Note: Never sample your pool water immediately afteradding chemicals. Always allow the water to circulatefor 8 to 12 hours before taking a sample.

BAQUACIL is different from ordinary chlorine and bromine-basedpool sanitisers. For that reason, many chemicals that work with onesystem won’t work with the other. AlgaeMicroscopic forms of plant life (somefree-floating, others clinging). Some strainsare more resistant to chemical treatmentthan others.
AlgicidesChemicals that control or prevent algae.
BacteriaSingle-cell organisms that contaminateyour pool water. Introduced from theenvironment and by swimmers. Can be ahealth hazard unless controlled with asanitiser.
Balanced waterThe correct ratio of mineral content and pHlevel that prevents pool water from beingeither corrosive or scale-forming.
Calcium hardnessThe amount of dissolved calcium in poolwater. High hardness levels cause cloudywater and scale formation. Low levelscause harm to the pool and equipment.
Cartridge filterA filter for pool water that uses paper orfabric-like cartridges to remove suspendedmatter.
Chelating agentA compound which holds dissolved metalions in solution by chemically binding themin a stable ring structure. Also known as a“sequestering" agent.
ChlorineA form of sanitising agent that controlsbacteria in swimming pools by the releaseof hypochlorous acid, also known as freeavailable chlorine.
Diatomaceous earth (D.E.) filterA filter for pool water that usesdiatomaceous earth which consists of tinyprehistoric diatom skeletons. They are veryporous and provide an excellent filtermedium.
FlocculantA chemical which causes suspended matterin the pool to coagulate and fall to thebottom of the pool.
pHA measurement of acidity or basicity. Theideal range in a pool using BAQUACIL is 7.2to 7.8. Below 7.2, pool water is acidic andwill corrode pool equipment and damagethe pool surface. Above 7.8, pool water istoo basic – which may result in cloudinessand scale formation. Improper pH balancealso affects the bacteria-killing power ofchlorine. The anti-bacterial activity ofBAQUACIL is not linked to pH.
ppmThe abbreviation for “parts per million”.The accepted measurement of chemicalconcentration in swimming pool water.
ReagentA substance used to detect or measurechemical level.
Sand filterA pool water filter that uses fine silica sandas its filter medium.
