Bayer’s Poncho®/VOTiVO® seed treatment protects young plants from pests during critical early development stages, leading to healthier root development and improved vigor. Already applied on 14 million acres, Poncho/VOTiVO is a powerful seed treatment for your soybean crop that prevents damage before pests can strike.
Applied directly to the seed, its systemic agent is absorbed by new roots immediately, protecting seedlings and roots from numerous insect pests, including early-season aphids, overwintering bean leaf beetles, grape colaspis, seed corn maggots and wireworms.
Poncho/VOTiVO employs a biological mode of action with a unique bacteria strain that lives and grows with young roots, creating a living barrier that keeps important soybean nematodes, including reniform, root-knot and soybean cyst, from reaching the root.
Poncho/VOTiVO is the perfect companion for soybean seed with genetic resistance to nematodes. Soybean cyst nematode (SCN) is the number one pest affecting yields for soybean growers. It accounts for annual nationwide losses of more than $1.5 billion. Research has shown that genetic resistance against soybean cyst nematode is not complete and an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program is required to preserve the value of SCN-resistant varieties. Poncho/VOTiVO protects against multiple types of nematodes that cause damage to young soybean roots, making it an ideal partner for any IPM program.
PONCHO/VOTiVO ADVANTAGES:
• Controls early-season aphids, overwintering bean leaf beetles and other important early-season insects common in soybeans.
• Systemic mode of action protects the entire plant during early development, supporting healthier plant establishment.
• Living bacteria grows around roots to prevent nematode damage from soybean cyst nematode (SCN) and other significant types of nematodes.
• Complements existing SCN-resistant soybean varieties for even greater protection.
• Valuable seed is protected from the moment it is planted.
• Promotes higher yields through a healthier root system and a more vigorous and uniform crop.
