The Government of Indonesia has stipulated DVB-T as a national standard of fixed reception digital terrestrial TV broadcasting (free-to-air) through Ministerial Decree No. 7/P/M.KOMINFO/3/2007 dated March 21, 2007. Consideration of the Standard Stipulation: # Historical : Indonesia has been using PAL System as the analog TV standard as used in Europe. Likewise the DVB-T standard that developed by the standardization agency in Europe. So, this could be expected that the implementation will be easier.
# Geographical : Almost all of neighboring countries (ASEAN Countries, Australia, and New Zealand) had adopting DVB-T standard. This standard also has adopted by around 137 countries worldwide.
# Technical : After implementation of trial using several standards, it produced that the performance of the DVB-T standard is the most suitable for the digital TV broadcasting system in Indonesia.
