PNMT - GENERALPASOLINK NETWORK MANAGEMENT TERMINAL (PNMT) IS A MOBILE TERMINAL CONSISTING OF A PORTABLE COMPUTER WITH A SIMPLIFIED VERSION OF THE PASOLINK NETWORK MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE DEVELOPED FOR MANAGEMENT OF NEC PASOLINK SERIES SHORT HAUL RADIO TRANSMISSION NETWORK.
PNMT IS DESIGNED AS AN ONSITE MAINTENANCE TOOL TO BE USED BY THE FIELD ENGINEERS AND TECHNICIANS. IT CONNECTS DIRECTLY TO THE PNMT PORT OF THE PASOLINK IDU. PNMT CAN BE USED TO MONITOR LOCAL / REMOTE EQUIPMENT STATUS AND PROVIDES CONTROL CAPABILITIES SIMILAR TO THOSE AVAILABLE IN PNMS.
PNMT IS ALSO USED TO DOWN LOAD SYSTEM AND CONFIGURATION FILES TO THE NE AND UPGRADE THE SOFTWARE IN THE IDU
WHEN CONNECTED TO AN IDU PNMT CAN MONITOR NOT ONLY THE LOCAL EQUIPMENT BUT ANY REMOTE NETWORK ELEMENT UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE CENTRAL PM.

PNMT PORT IS LOCATED ON THE FRONT OF THE EQUIPMENT AND CONSISTS OF A RJ45 CONNECTOR. PNMT PORT CONNECT THE PM CTRL MODULE IN THE IDU VIA A SERIAL CABLE TO THE RELEVANT COMMUNICATION PORT OF THE PNMT COMPUTER.

Following items are monitored.
TX PORTION
Alarm
o TX INPUT: alarm occurs when the TX IF input signal from the IDU is lost
o TX POWER: TX RF Power decreases 3 to 6 dB from nominal value.
o Selected/Not Selected: shows the current system used for signal transmission. (for 1+1 systems only)
Metering
TX Power: The transmitted power of the ODU in dBm.
RX PORTION
Alarm
o RX LEVEL: alarm occurs when the input level decreases by preset value from squelch level.
o Selected/Not Selected: shows the current system used for signal reception. (for 1+1 systems only)

RX Level: The received level interpreted in dBm.
COMMON PORTION
Alarm
o APC: this alarm occurs when the Local Oscillator is locked out.
o ODU CPU: this alarm occurs when the communication between the ODU and the IDU is lost.

o OUTPUT LOSS: alarm occurs when the received signal from radio link is lost.
o AIS RECEIVED: indicates the status of AIS RECEIVED signal for transmitting channel in the MAIN INTFC.
o AIS GENERATED: indicates the status of AIS generation signal for receiving channel in the MAIN INTFC.

o Port Usage: enables to apply the each port.
o Link: alarm occurs when the link fails on each port.
o Speed & Duplex: indicates the status of Speed & Duplex.

ALARM BUZZERCLICK ON ALARM BUZZER ON THE SYSTEM DROP DOWN MENU TO OPEN THE ALARM BUZZER SETTING WINDOW.
SELECT WAVE FILE TO ENABLE THE BUZZER. THE BUZZER SOUND CAN BE CHANGED BY SELECTING A DIFFERENT WAV FILE. USE BROWSE TO LOCATE THE PATH TO THE WAV FILE.
SELECT NO SOUND TO DISABLE THE BUZZER
CLICK HERE TO TEST THE BUZZER SOUND
BEEP FREQUENCY CAN BE DEFINED BY CLICKING ON EDIT AND SELECTING THE FREQUENCIES AND DURATION FOR EACH FREQUENCY. CLICK THE ARROW KEY TO ADD TO THE LIST. SEVERAL FREQUENCIES CAN BE ADDED TO THE BEEP SIGNAL. SELECTED FREQUENCIES CAN BE DELETED BY SELECTING THE FREQUENCY FROM THE LIST AND CLICKING ON THE DELETE SYMBOL.
SELECT BEEP TO ENABLE THE BUZZER WITH BEEP FREQUENCIES INSTEAD OF WAVE FILE SOUND
CLICK OK TO IMPLEMENT THE OPTION SELECTED OR CLICK CANCEL TO EXIT WITHOUT CHANGING THE SETTINGS.

TO VIEW A REMOTE NE FROM THE NETWORK ELEMENT LIST, SELECT AND HIGHLIGHT THE NE IN THE LIST. THEN CLICK THE CONNECT TO NETWORK ELEMENT FROM THE LIST DROP DOWN MENU. SELECT YES FROM THE DIALOG BOX. THE SELECTED NE AND ITS OPPOSITE NE WILL BE DISPLAYED IN THE LINK SUMMARY WINDOW.

PNMT HELP FUNCTION IS AVAILABLE AS PNMT MANUAL IN PDF FILE FORMAT. IF THE ACROBAT READER IS INSTALLED IN THE PNMT PC, CLICKING HELP AND SELECTING THE RELEVANT PNMT FILE WILL OPEN THE PDF FILE TO PROVIDE HELP FUNCTION TO THE USER.

Main signal, Service signal, ODU and CTRL portion can be monitored and controlled in this window.To open the Equipment Configuration Monitor:
1. Select Configuration Equipment Setup in the NE-specific menu bar.
2. This window contains the setup information and control for the ODU and the IDU.
The Equipment Setup window is shown below.

Frequency Channel
1. Click on [Browse] to locate the Channel plan file on the local hard disk.
2. Select Channel and click on [OK], then TX and RX frequency corresponding to the channel will be set.
Frequency channel file format is csv, including channel name, TX frequency and RX frequency.

A NOTE DESCRIBING THE NETWORK ELEMENT CAN BE ENTERED FROM THIS WINDOW. UP TO 80 CHARACTERS CAN BE USED IN THIS FIELD

PROVISIONING The main interface (MAIN INTFC), SC Assignment, MTPC and ATPC can be set in this window.
To open the Equipment Configuration Monitor:
1. Select Configuration Provisioning in the NE-specific menu bar.
2. This window contains the setup information of the MTPC, ATPC, BER Alarm Threshold, Cluster ALM Setting (Input), AIS Activation, Main Channel Setting, SC Assignment and LAN INTFC-S. The Provisioning window is shown below.

ATPC SETTING
IN ALL SETTING WINDOWS, CLICK CLOSE TO EXIT THE WINDOW
AFTER SELECTING OR SETTING THE PARAMETER CLICK EXECUTE BUTTON TO IMPLEMENT THE SETTING.
AUTOMATIC TX POWER CONTROLATPC RANGE DEFINES THE MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM TRANSMISSION POWER DURING ATPC OPERATION. IN MTPC MODE THIS MENU ITEM DOES NOT APPEAR.
IF THE MAXIMUM OUTPUT POWER OF THE ODU IS +20 DBM, THEN FOR AN ATPC MAX PWR SETTING OF 0DB AND ATPC MIN PWR SETTING OF -10DB, THE ODU OUTPUT POWER DURING ATPC OPERATION CAN VARY BETWEEN +20 DBM AND +10 DBM
RX THRESHOLD LEVELWHEN THE MONITORED RX SIGNAL LEVEL FALLS BELOW THIS LEVEL, CONTROL SIGNAL SENT TO THE OPPOSITE STATION INITIATE THE ATPC FUNCTION.

This function is to display the assigned interface type {LAN or RS-232C} of the available

To set the type of directional interface for SC3 and SC4:
1. Click on the [Setting] button in the SC Assignment section on the Provisioning window.
2. On the ensuing window, you will be able to select the type of directional interface for SC3 and SC4.

To change the TX Mute status:

3. When you are setting to the opposite NE, you have to also select TX Release Time in the TX Mute Release Time list.
4. Click on [Execute] button to carry out the command.
Loopback-1 (near-end loopback)
This type loopback is created at the INFTC/OPT INTFC of the selected NE – where you are currently connected.
To set the near-end loopback:
1. Click on the [Loopback-1] button in the Maintenance window.
2. Select ON to activate the loopback.
3. Click on [Execute] button to apply the loopback.
4. Click on [Close] button when finished.

ATPC Manual
Use when an optional transmitting power is required when the ATPC is in operation.

2. Select the whether to manually turn ON or OFF the ATPC manual and the ATPC manual power that will be transmitted in dB.
3. Click on [Execute] button to activate the new setting.

2. Select ON/OFF button.
3. Click on [Execute] button to activate the new setting.
