PMD PhotonICs® 19k-S3Preliminary datasheet
PMD PhotonICs® 19k-S3The PMD PhotonICs® 19k-S3 is the first commerciallyavailable Time-of-Flight 3D chip. The optical sensorenables the real-time capture of distance and gray-scale information. Due to the outstanding sensitivityand improved performance of the new PMD Photo-nICs® 19k-S3, high accuracy with extremely lowpower consumption is achievable. Read-out clocksof 15MPixel/s are possible. Thanks to the integratedSBI (Suppression of Background Illumination) tech-nology, a well known PMD feature, this innovativeproduct can be deployed in indoor and outdoor
environments. The resistance to motion blur allowsdetecting fast moving objects. A Region-of-Interest(ROI) function enables a flexible and application specific lateral resolution. The 160x120 pixel resolu-tion is optimized for close range human-machine interaction up to 2 meters. All the same, the chip issuitable for various applications such as automotiveenvironmental detection, factory automation, mobilerobotics as well as digital signage to mention just a few. + =?Reference Design PMD[vision]® CamBoard nanoThe PMD[vision]® CamBoard nano with dimensionsof 37x30x25mm is the smallest depth sensor refe-rence design available worldwide. Providing a framerate of up to 90fps at 160x120px with a 90° field ofview, the CamBoard nano is outstandingly suitablefor contactless Human-Machine-Interfaces based ongesture detection. It delivers depth maps and grayvalue image data simultaneously. Therefore, it´s pos-sible to analyze scenes based on 3D data only or incombination with 2D gray value data.
The CamBoard nano is a reference design for thePMD PhotonICs® 19k-S3 imager, equipping our custo-mers with an operational platform which facilitatesthe development of application-specific depth sen-sor systems, enabling them to reduce innovation cy-cles. To support use-case evaluations we offer ourAPI PMDSDK2 for Linux and Windows (32bit/64bit)along with the latest generation of our visualizationtool LightVis and our MATLAB for Windows interfacePMDMDK supporting customers to turn their ideasinto reality.
