General Description
TheSensit®PMD,referredtoasthe“PMD”,isdesignedtodetectmethanegasfrom1ppmupto100%volume.ThePMDmaybeusedforwalkingsurveysandvehiclesurveys(whenproperlyinstalled)forundergroundnaturalgaspipingsystems.Otherapplicationsincludelandfillmonitoringandcheckingpipingsystemswhereotherinterferinggasesmayprovideinaccuratereadings.
ThePMDsensesgasusingInfrared(IR)AbsorptionSpectroscopyincombinationwithanelectronicnarrowbandpassfilter.Thistechnologyutilizesaninfraredlightsourcewithanoutputthatischangedwhen certain gasesabsorb the light output. The filter only allows specific lightwavelengths to bemonitoredandmeasured.TheconcentrationofgasisproportionaltotheamountofspecificIRlightabsorbedandisdisplayedinPPM,%LELand/or%Vol.
ThePMDhasalargedisplayindicatingconcentrationandotherinstrumentfunctionssuchasbatterychargeandperformance.Aninternalpumpprovidesrapidsamplingintothedetectionchamber.Audibleandvisualalarmsindicatewhenpresetalarmsareexceeded.Bluetoothdatatransmissionprovidescommunicationofrealtimeandstoreddata.OptionalGPSandDataLoggingallowforfurtherrecordingoftime,dateandlocationdata.
