PROGRAM Update in interventional bronchoscopy: When to freeze? When to block? When to heat? Dr Benjamin Ng BSc(Med) MBBS FRACPThis presentation will outline new bronchoscopic procedures available for your patients including cryobiopsy for lung cancer and lung fibrosis, endoscopic lung volume reduction for severe emphysema and bronchial thermoplasty for severe asthma.

Dr Ng graduated from UNSW University. He had the privilege of training for one and a half years at the world famous cardiothoracic institute Papworth Hospital, Cambridge, United Kingdom, where he developed special expertise in the areas of lung cancer, interventional bronchoscopy, lung fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension.

Asbestos and the lungs, myths and truths Dr Malcolm Ogborne MBBS FRACPYou will learn about the ways in which asbestos fibres can affect the lungs with examples of the various clinical scenarios and problems that can arise.

Dr Ogborne is a consultant physician in respiratory and sleep medicine who consults at Sydney Adventist Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital.

Update in respiratory medicineDr Amy Mclean MBBS FRACPYou will learn about changes in the management of pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung disease and cystic fibrosis.

Dr Mclean is a consultant respiratory and sleep physician. She completed advanced sleep medicine training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Dr McLean is in full time medical practice and also coordinates the junior doctor training program at Sydney Adventist Hospital. She consults on all types of sleep disorders.
