This booklet contains details of all road closures and parking restrictions across the Edinburgh Marathon Festival weekend which takes place on the 30th & 31st of May 2015.

Please read this information carefully.

Hundreds of runners will be taking part

raising money for many local and national

charities. Please come out and support

them as they complete their race.

Notice of Road Closures and Parking Restrictions Saturday 30th & Sunday 31st May 2015

To the residents and businesses of Edinburgh & East Lothian

Please find enclosed in this booklet details of all road closures and parking restrictions in your area on Friday 29th, Saturday 30th & Sunday 31st May 2015.

The event organisers in association with City of Edinburgh Council and East Lothian Council have striven to minimise the disruptive impact of the event to allow those directly affected to carry on with their daily routine with as little inconvenience as possible.

Please take note of the information provided and do not park within these areas during the times stated. Every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing as freely and smoothly as possible.

Please note Emergency Service vehicles will not be affected by any of the restrictions.

Abbeyhill Residents Instructions

Cannongate and Royal Park Terrace are the only options for entering and exiting this area. All other routes including Clockmill Lane, Abbey Lane and Calton Road will be closed.

All routes will reopen by 12:00. We would ask that between 10:50 and 12:00 if you are driving on Abbeyhill or Abbey Lane to take care as we will have a team cleaning the roads after the runners have passed.

We hope that these arrangements are useful to you and apologise in advance for the inconvenience caused. Please do support the runners as they complete the distance, many of whom are raising money for local and national charities. Thank you.

Millhill Residents Instructions

Access to Beulah, Woodside Gardens, Windsor Gardens, Linkfield Court and Craighall Terrace via Linkfield Road will only be possible before 08:00 and after 18:30 via Ashgrove. We are unable to allow vehicular traffic on Linkfield Road during the race due to public safety concerns. If you wish to use your vehicle between 08:00 and 18:30 then please park on Ashgrove and exit via Pinkie Road. You should expect a higher than normal volume of traffic on Pinkie Road so please add extra time to your journey. Please display your Resident Vehicle Pass clearly in your vehicle to park and gain access to Ashgrove throughout the closure period.

Access and egress is maintained in this area however we would ask for those driving alongside the running lane to please take extra care when doing so. There will be runners in the area from 08:30 until 13:30. Police may use their discretion to temporarily hold traffic at peak running times.

Total journey time - approximately 20 minutes

This is a free shuttle provided for the use of those living in Port Seton, Cockenzie and Prestonpans. Please wait at any bus stop on the route map above and the bus will take you to the connection point at Bankton Terrace, Prestonpans where you will be able to use the Lothian Bus network to travel to your desired location. This service will start at 05:30 and will continue at approximately 15 minute intervals until 18:30 or when Lothian Buses normal services resume.
