Various events will be hosted from the early morning until the evening including the GIO Oz Day 10K wheelchair race, markets and live entertainment in The Rocks as well as the Australia Day Live concert at the Sydney Opera House forecourt and Circular Quay. There will also be events in Barangaroo and Darling Harbour. The official Australia Day fireworks will be hosted in Circular Quay again this year, as part of the Australia Day Live event which includes live musical performances choreographed with short fireworks displays from 8:00pm, and the grand finale display at 9:15pm. To safely deliver these events, road closures and parking restrictions will be in place. Residents and business owners are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the below details when planning their movements on the day. Details are correct at time of print. Visit livetraffic.com for the most up-to-date information. Check signs carefully on the day and the night before as some clearways come into effect very early on the day. Vehicles left in clearways will be towed and a fee applies. If your vehicle is towed, call 132 701 to find its new location. FIND OUT MORE Please note event infrastructure installation will commence in Circular Quay from Monday, 21 January 2019 with concert rehearsals on 24 and 25 January. For noise level concerns, please contact the Australia Day Live hotline on (02) 8039 7441. Depending on weather conditions, fireworks displays may produce low smoke which could trigger fire alarms. Please ensure you keep your windows closed between 8.00pm and 9.30pm on Saturday 26 January 2019 if you are sensitive to smoke. 4am to midnight: George St from Essex St to Hickson Rd. George St between Hickson Rd and Lower Fort St will close from 4am and remain closed until 10pm Sunday 27 January for the regular Rocks Markets trading.

7am to midnight: Hickson Rd from George St to Pottinger St.

7am to 10am: Hickson Rd from Napoleon St to Towns Place (for GIO Oz Day 10K wheelchair race).

7am to 11am: Hickson Rd from Towns Place to Lower Fort St (for GIO Oz Day 10K wheelchair race).

3pm to midnight: roads north of Bridge St including sections of Pitt St, Loftus St, Young St and Phillip St.

8.30pm to 10.30pm: Cahill Expressway and Harbour Bridge lanes 4, 7 and 8 and Circular Quay Overpass, Macquarie St north of Bent St as well as roads north of Hunter St including Bridge St, Grosvenor St, Bent St and Phillip St. Sections of Pitt St, Margaret St, Hunter St, Bond St and George St may close between 3pm and 8.30pm subject to NSW Police discretion dependent on crowd size.

SPECIAL EVENT CLEARWAYS Special event clearway parking restrictions are strict no-parking zones and apply even to local residents or RMS Mobility Scheme Permit holders. Clearways will be in effect at the following locations and times:

3am to 10am: Hickson Rd from Towns Place to Napoleon St.

3am to 11am: Hickson Rd from Towns Place to Pottinger St.

3am to midnight: George St/Hickson Rd north of Alfred St.

1pm to midnight: roads north of Hunter St, sections of Elizabeth St, Castlereagh St, Clarence St, Carrington St

6pm to midnight: sections of Pitt St, King St and Market St. Check signs carefully on the day and the night before as some clearways come into effect very early on the day.
