The Native American Day Wacipi at the
Multi-Cultural Center is just around the
corner.
This event features food, dancing, music
and educational opportunities for all.
An important part of the ceremonies is a
traditional Native American dance.
Invited drum groups include Iron Wing
and RHS Drum. All other drum groups
and dancers are welcomed. A meal will
be served.
We are honored to host this celebration
and we look forward to October 10.
See you there!

The Coliseum is more popular than ever
before. The commercial kitchen is a big
draw for many events and is included in
the rental price. The Coliseum is larger
than most banquet facilities in the area
boasting 9,400 sq. ft. of space on the main
floor: enough for 1000+ theater seating
and 400+ banquet seating!

The Multi-Cultural Center had a healthy competition at Escape605, where there are “live escape” rooms with puzzles, clues and plenty in the way of team-building. We had a blast.
Meet Katie. As a Job Skills Trainer and Rental
Coordinator, she balances several duties at MCC.
She plays a hands-on role with clients in our Job
Skills Program. Katie helps find job opportunities,
fill out applications, work on resume skills and
hands-on job skills, including cleaning, stocking
and food prep techniques. Katie also gives tours for
The Coliseum and coordinates the rentals for
events.
“I love that MCC gives me the ability to learn about
new cultures while helping people,” Katie said.
When she’s not working, Katie spends time with
her two-month old girl, Elizabeth, and keeps busy
with do-it-yourself projects. We are happy to have
Katie aboard the MCC team!

Hispanic Heritage Month is going strong into October. The celebration runs from September 15 through October 15, and corresponds with national independence days in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica, followed closely by Mexico (Sept. 16), Chile (Sept. 18) and Belize (Sept. 21).
Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the heritage and long history of Latino and Hispanic Americans. It is observed in the U.S., Canada and Latin America.
Celebration of Latino and Hispanic culture runs through Oct. 15
