PROJECT’S INTRODUCTION

A. BACKGROUND

Global Community Development Program is one of the main programs of AIESEC, in which graduate

students from various educational institutions were given the opportunity to gain experience and

self-development to foster international peace-loving mindset, develop leadership potential and the

opportunity to explore cultural differences spaces through social projects. Participants will engage in

social activities with themes ranging from management, education, financial, engineering,

technology, HIV / AIDS, the environment, children, and many others.

The success of AIESEC in running many projects and bring in the Exchange participant to best

contributing to the projects as well as the of the high lightened issues of children, underlying the

formation of Playground Project (Children, Education, Health and Life style-based project).

B. OBJECTIVES

This project emphasizes on delivering the value of tolerance and creativity in children through a

series of activities with the exchange of participants and learning partner later.

C. GOALS

1. Improve the insight and ability of the Exchange Participants on the realm of children education,

particularly in Indonesia, also the importance of children's education as early stages of forming the

character to be a good future generations.

2. Improving the children’s ability to interact and improve their international outlook through active

learning activities between Exchange Participants and the children.

3. Fostering the sense of concern and tolerance for others as well as the social life through social

activities and visitation to various children Foundation and institutions.

D. CONCEPTS

The project will be held in 6 weeks, with following period:

1st Week : Orientation activities of the Exchange Participants (Introduction

Yogyakarta and other Cultural Events)

2nd, 3rd, 4th Week : The main activities of the project (Teaching-Learning activities in

elementary school/Special School and other activities provided by the

OC Program and adjusted with the Learning Partner)

5th Week : The main activities of the project (Teaching-Learning activities in

elementary school/Special School and other activities provided by the

OC Program and adjusted with the Learning Partner)

6th Week : Final Project, The Presentation of projetc’s outcome during 5 week of

activities and final project (Show) of Exchange Participants and the

children.

*) The schedule can be modifying adjusted to the agreement between OC and Learning Partner.

• In Playground Project, Exchange Participant will hold the activities with the children and

Learning Partner for 6 weeks.

• The Exchange Participants are encouraged to create and hold activities related to education,

health and life style which is adapted to the agreement with learning partners

• In each period of weeks (as explained above), the Exchange participant will teach and interact

with children from different schools both primary and secondary school children with special

needs (SLB).

• The Exchange Participants will conduct a social visit to the Indonesia cancer foundation,

orphanage with the kids and Learning Partners to develop a sense of tolerance and

compassion within the children from an early age.

• In the end of the Project, the Exchange Participant encouraged to prepare a final project with

the kids to be showed in final events (can be adjusted with the cooperation of Learning

Partners) that invite all participant of the initial activity.

• On the sidelines of routine learning activities, will be held a workshop of education in general,

education system in Indonesia and Indonesia art and cultural within a period of 6 weeks.

Additionally, the will held social and cultural visits to the interesting and historical places

(Batik, Museum, Golfing etc.) in Yogyakarta to increase the knowledge and experiences during

their exchange in Indonesia.

o Requirements:

• Youth

• Good in English; oral & written

• From diverse country

• Having interest in Children issues and education, health and life style issues,

cultural sharing and social program .

• Willing to teach and interact with children, especially children with special needs.

• Independent and able to work as a team

o Job description :

1. The EP will learn about Indonesian children and education, as they will undertake

teaching and learning activities over a period of 5 weeks in different places and

school.

2. The EP will have chance to interact and work closely with the children as they will

have to prepare the final project to be present in the final event of Playground

3. The EP will have chance to improve their knowledge and experiences of

Indonesian culture, as they will follow tourist activities and visitation of

Indonesian art, cultural and historical places.

4. The EP give contribution to the project’s preparation as they will visit and survey

the Learning partner

5. All EP’s activities during the Playground Project must be recorded, as they will

make a documentary movie about the whole project.

6. The EP will have the chance to make a local handcraft.

7. The EP will have fun AIESEC activities such as gathering and party

PREPARATION

1. The Exchange Participants required to prepare 2 Educational Material for

learning-teaching activities with the theme of health and life style for the kids

(healthy way of life etc), and general education (interesting educational

materials for the children).

2. The Exchange participants required to prepare and bring a recorder and

suported item to support the video documentary.

3. The Exchange Participant required to bring typical item of their country such as

typical foods, typical item of children in ithe country, Flag, Video and if

possible traditional clothes to present and introduce their culture in cultural

night and to help decorating the venue of final event.

4. The Exchange Participant is required to prepare a final project that will be

carried out with the kids can be a staging arts (Dance, Chantillation etc) or

other performances and shown on the Final Event of Playground Project and

required to send details, description and estimate of the project needs a week

before commencement of Playground Project (June 15, 2014).

5. As the mission for Playground Project with the aim to expanding the social

interaction of all Exchange participant, the Eps required to invite no less than

10 peoples to come in the Cultural Night (will be hold during the orientation

period) and the final event of Playground Project.

6. The Exchange Participant required to prepare a budget for their visitation and

tourist activites.
