• Needed an objective resource to evaluate planning salaries

• Called upon planners to participate and pass on a salary survey

• 133 completed surveys

• 42% male/58% female

• Level breakout (those who provided salary figure): 16 Junior/Assistant, 41 Planner, 28 Senior, 20 VP, 22 Director

• 14% from a small agency, 45% from a medium agency, 41% from a large agency (agency size did not have a measurable impact on salaries)

Macro Conclusions

• Whew. Women aren’t getting screwed. On the contrary, our industry seems to be pretty fair based on years of experience, regardless of gender.

• If you aspire to make more than $150K-$250K in today’s dollars, better start guitar lessons or begin playing the lottery.

• I found this very helpful as a platform to negotiate from and would like to do it once a year if you’re willing. Potential improvements/additional questions I would ask:– Did you use a recruiter to land your current job?– Continent of origin/Do you speak with an accent?– Just ask yes/no regarding degrees– Just ask region and not state
