1. Increase the amount of students in ELA eValuate data by 3% (59%-62%) 2. Increase the proficiency level of all students in ILE by 3% as measured by EOY literacy (raw score 6539 to 6735)
3. Decrease the amount of strategic readers by 3% from 189 students last SY to 183.3 students this school year (DIBELS)
4. Increase the amount of HSA Science Proficiency Overall students last SY from 58% to 61% this school year (HSA Science Assessment)
5. Decrease the amount of school incidences per day by 3% from 1.35% last school year to 1.30% this school year (Discipline Data)

We are committed to educating the whole child for college and career readiness in the 21st centuryAfter realizing significant growth in Math scores last year through data team inquiry by our teachers, we are continuing to refine and apply that successful model to English Language Arts, Science, Interdisciplinary instruction, and Social Studies.Many of our students have recently shared with us how Math is now their favorite subject at school, and we are determined to carry that momentum forward.

Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children acquire and apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
At Kahului School we use:1. MindUP Curriculum to teach brain calming strategies2. Multi Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS),

SAFETY UPDATES … DR. ARAPOFFThe entire school evacuated successfully off campus to a new locationOur peaceful playgrounds initiative and positive behavioral interventions have resulted in a 70% reduction of incident referrals over the past two yearsKahului Elementary is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for our keiki through strengthening HᾹ and a sense of belonging within our community ohana. We invite parents to immediately communicate any concerns about improper, inappropriate, or unkind behavior to our dedicated staff. Last years’ challenges will leave us stronger, thanks to an outpouring of community support and the renewal of our infrastructure. Our new surveillance systems and emphasis on social development have improved student safety.

1. F-Building and P16 have been demolished. We will be growing grass there for now.
