have the chance to help me prepare for the all-

school pizza party. Don’t forget your math skills!

Task

As the head of the party, I need to find out what the best deal for pizza will be. Should I buy the ingredients to make the pizza or should I buy the pizza from the Pizza Ranch? This is

where you come in! I need you to help me figure out which would be the

better deal.Your tasks will include:

Calculating the amount of ingredients neededFinding the price of each ingredient Calculating the cost for all ingredientsCalculating the cost for Pizza Ranch pizza

Process

1.) For starters I will split you into groups of 4. Each group will need a:Recorder- write down all your work and calculations your group makesComputer Expert- runs the computer2 Calculators- calculate problems

 2.) The first thing you will need to do is calculate how many larges we will need to feed the whole school.

There are 86 people who will eat1 large = 12 piecesEach person gets 3 pieces

 3.) We will be giving the school three different choices:

PepperoniSweet Swine                          Taco

 4.) For each recipe you will need to convert it to serve 86 people

1 slice = 1 servingFor the sweet swine exclude the red onions and green bell peppersFor all pizzas do not worry about the crust. We will do that in class together.

5.) Once your conversions are made, make a grocery list of everything you will need. Print the template I have provided for the recorder to write your list on.

 6.) Go to the online sites provided and find all the prices of each of the items on your grocery list. Add the prices together to get a total.
