Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (15-4-11) clinched its third-ever Key- stone Derby Cup, presented by K&L Gates and the Pennsylvania Lottery, with a 2-0 victory against Penn FC (9-14-8) on Wednesday at FNB Field. In addition to retaining the Derby Cup for a second consecutive year, the Hounds also clinched playoff berth for the first time since the 2015 campaign. The goal that catapulted the Black and Gold into the postseason came off the left foot of Kay Banjo in the 38th minute. Andrew Lubahn later added an insur- ance goal in second-half stoppage time. Next up for the Hounds is clinching a home playoff game. The club has never hosted a playoff match at Highmark Stadium before. The last time Pittsburgh hosted a playoff match occurred in 2006 – a 4-0 semifinals loss against the Charlotte Eagles at Falconi Field. Pittsburgh can clinch a home playoff game with a win and/ or an Indy Eleven tie or loss this Saturday. Indy Eleven will clash with first-place FC Cincinnati this weekend.
