With the defeat, the Hounds fall to third place and the Battery jump to second place in the Eastern Conference standings. On the other hand, North Carolina FC (6-8-5) enters the contest on a three- game unbeaten streak. The USL newcomer has not dropped a game (1-0-2) since its Fourth of July loss to the Black and Gold at Highmark Stadium. The last time the Hounds played after a loss, also hap- pening to be a road match, they defeated the Richmond Kickers, 2-1. Pittsburgh set season-high marks in shots (20) and shots on target (eight) during the game. With an undefeated road record of 4-0-4, the Hounds are on pace for perhaps their best season in club history in this department. Only two other times since the team began play in 1999 has it recorded a winning record on the road – 2003 (8-3-3) and 2004 (8-2-0). The Hounds’ frontline has found itself in a slump. Over the past five games, Pittsburgh has not registered a goal from one of its forwards. The last time the Black and Gold logged a goal from a striker came in its 3-0 home victory against New York Red Bulls II on June 16, when all three tallies were scored by forwards (Neco Brett notched two goals and Romeo Parkes added one goal). Despite this slump, the Hounds have fared well over this stretch, holding a 3-1-1 record in their past five games. Parkes’ career success on the road could work in the team’s favor, as it looks to break this slump. Seven of the striker’s 11 career goals with the Black and Gold have come on the road, including two road tallies this season (at Richmond Kickers and at Tampa Bay Rowdies). • With one more clean sheet, goalkeeper Dan Lynd will set a single-season club record. He is currently tied with Randy Dedini (2003) and Hunter Gilstrap (2011), all having nine shutouts in a single campaign. With his next clean sheet, Lynd will also move into a tie with Chris Robinson for the third most shutouts all-time in club history. Also to showcase Lynd’s miraculous season to this point, the goalkeeper has as many or more clean sheets (nine) as every Eastern Conference team has wins except for FC Cincinnati, which paces the conference with 13 victories. • Rookie Thomas Vancaeyezeele is also on a record-setting pace for the Hounds this season. As the only player to compete in every minute of the season thus far, Vancaeye- zeele is on pace to log 3,060 minutes. This would shatter the single-season mark of 2,813 minutes that Kevin Kerr set for the Hounds in 2017. 2018 SCHEDULE & RECORD League Record: 9-2-7 Home: 5-2-3 • Away: 4-0-4 • Non-League Play: 1-1-0 MARCH Sat. 24 @Nashville SC CW T, 0-0 Sat. 31 PENN FC CW T, 0-0 APRIL Sat. 7 TORONTO FC II YouTube W, 4-0 Sat. 14 OTTAWA FURY FC ESPN+ W, 1-0 Sat. 21 @FC Cincinnati CW T, 2-2 Sat. 28 ATLANTA UNITED 2 ESPN+ W, 1-0 MAY Sat. 5 @Toronto FC II CW W, 2-1 Fri. 11 INDY ELEVEN ESPN+ T, 0-0 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round Two Wed. 16 @Erie Commodores FC N/A W, 2-1 Sat. 19 @Tampa Bay Rowdies CW T, 2-2 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round Three Wed. 23 FC CINCINNATI N/A L, 1-3 Sat. 26 PENN FC ESPN+ T, 0-0 Wed. 30 NASHVILLE SC ESPN+ L, 0-1 JUNE Sat. 2 @Richmond Kickers CW W, 2-1 Sat. 16 NEW YORK RED BULLS II CW W, 3-0 Sat. 23 @Charleston Battery CW T, 0-0 Wed. 27 @Louisville City FC ESPN+ W, 1-0 JULY Wed. 4 NORTH CAROLINA FC ESPN+ W, 2-0 Sun. 8 @Ottawa Fury FC ESPN+ W, 1-0 Sat. 21 CHARLESTON BATTERY ESPN+ L, 0-1 Sat. 28 @North Carolina FC CW 7 p.m. AUGUST Wed. 1 RICHMOND KICKERS ESPN+ 7 p.m. Sat. 4 TORONTO FC II ESPN+ 7 p.m. Sun. 12 @Bethlehem Steel FC CW 5 p.m. Sat. 18 CHARLOTTE INDEPENDENCE ESPN+ 7 p.m. Wed. 22 TAMPA BAY ROWDIES ESPN+ 7 p.m. Wed. 29 @Indy Eleven ESPN+ 7 p.m. SEPTEMBER Sat. 1 @FC Cincinnati CW 7:30 p.m. Sat. 8 BETHLEHEM STEEL FC ESPN+ 7 p.m. Sat. 15 LOUISVILLE CITY FC ESPN+ 7 p.m. Sat. 22 INDY ELEVEN ESPN+ 7 p.m. Wed. 26 @Penn FC ESPN+ 6:30 p.m. Sat. 29 @Charlotte Independence CW 7 p.m. OCTOBER Sat. 6 FC CINCINNATI ESPN+ 7 p.m. Wed. 10 @Atlanta United 2 ESPN+ 7 p.m. Sun. 14 @New York Red Bulls II CW 5 p.m. 2018 Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC > riverhounds.com > @RiverhoundsSC > #NCvPGH LAST TIME OUT Last Game Summary Riverhounds SC 0, Charleston Battery 1 Game 18 Highmark Stadium July 28, 2018 INDIVIDUAL Category Riverhounds SC Opponent Points 7 - Neco Brett vs. Toronto (4/7) 2 - Eight times Goals 3 - Neco Brett vs. Toronto (4/7) 1 - Eight times Assists 1 - 16 times 1 - Five times Shots 6 - Two times 6 - Lebo Moloto, Nashville (3/24) SOG 4 - Neco Brett vs. New York (6/16) 3 - Junior Flemmings, Tampa Bay (5/19) Saves 5 - Dan Lynd at Louisville (6/27) 6 - Trevor Spangenberg, Richmond (6/2) TEAM Hounds High Hounds Low Category Opp High Opp Low 11 - vs. Toronto (4/7) 0 - Seven times Points 5 - Two times 0 - 12 times 4 - vs. Toronto (4/7) 0 - Seven times Goals 2 - Two times 0 - 12 times 3 - Two times 0 - Eight times Assists 1 - Five times 0 - 13 times 20 - at Richmond (6/2) 5 - at Charleston (6/23) Shots 15 - Two times 2 - at OTT (7/8) 8 - at Richmond (6/2) 1 - Two times SOG 5 - Three times 0 - Two times 5 - at Louisville (6/27) 0 - Two times Saves 6 - at Richmond (6/2) 0 - Two times 23 - vs. New York (6/16) 8 - vs. Indy Eleven (5/11) Fouls 17 - at Cincinnati (4/21) 5 - vs. Indy Eleven (5/11) SUPERLATIVES CLUB NOTABLES All-Time Leading Goal Scorer ......................................................................
