Religions unite people across the world through common practices, beliefs, and holy languages.

Hindusim

• Beliefs bleed into daily life practices of morality, karma, and reincarnation

• Hindus worship in a temple and pray to one of the many Gods in this polytheistic religion

• Their holy text is called the Vedas • Hinduism originated in Northern India and

remains the dominant religion in the Indian Subcontinent

• Around 1 billion followers

Buddhism

• Nontheistic religion based on the writings of Siddhartha Gautama (AKA Buddha)

• Originated on the Eastern side of the Indian subcontinent and remains dominant throughout Asia, specifically Eastern Asia

• Ultimate goal of Buddhism is to obtain Nirvana• Buddhists worship mostly at home or in a temple • 400 million Buddhists worldwide

Mosque- house of worship

• Monotheistic/ Abrahamic religion that follows the holy book the Qur'an, which is said to be the writings of Allah (God).

• Most Muslims live in the Middle East and their holy site is Mecca, where it also originated

• Two main denominations are Sunni and Shia • Muslim prayers are recited in Arabic worldwide• About 1.6 billion followers
