Upcoming Meeting and Classes

Hi Everyone, For the April meeting we will be meeting in rooms A & B instead of B & C. This will give us more room so you will not need to let me know if you will be there or not. If you traced the egg pattern & have made 1, please bring it to show. There is a nice gift for first prize. Our judge will be our guest. We are having Reeze Hanson (morningglorydesigns.com) as our guest speaker doing a lecture & trunk show. Isn't that exciting? A guest coming to us from Kansas live & in person! I know she will be made to feel so welcome. There are two classes with Reeze on April 16th and April 17th. Each class is $50 or you can take both for $85 plus kit fees. The April 16th class will have a $25 kit fee and you will be making Merry Go Round. The April 17th class will have a $20 kit fee and you will be making Diamond Star.

Don’t forget to let me know if you want to take part in our challenge this year. If you want to take part in the new challenge you will receive a paint swatch with 3 colors and you can use black or white with it. You can make any item (not just quilt) and it will be due at Christmas party.

Look forward to seeing you all

Jacqui

Sunshine and Shadow Report

Sent a Get Well Soon card to Cookie Tierney as she was in the hospital.

Letter from the President: Lately I have been looking outside the “box” for things that encourage and inspire me. Sometimes I get stuck looking for inspiration in the same places. Since we have had to adjust our routines to suit COVID, it has forced me to look closer to home for inspiration. Surprisingly, I have found that when I stop long enough to look, really look around me, there really still is such beauty to be found. I have started taking a closer look at the plants and birds in my back yard, and listening to the wind rustling through the trees in the afternoon. I have allowed myself to stop and smell the roses. Wow, what a difference it makes in my attitude! I have started seeing art quilts everywhere! Sometimes it really is the simple things that bring us joy! I would encourage you this month, to look around you and find something that makes you smile! Make a date with yourself to unwind, unplug and breathe deep. You might just be amazed at the fountain of creativity that is just waiting to spring forth! There are quilts inside of you just waiting to

come out! I’m so excited to see what you come up with!
