PIAZZETTA HAS CONSTRUCTED MORE THAN 1.2 MILLION FIREPLACES AND STOVES

SINCE 1960.

DURING THIS TIME THESE ANCIENT TRADITIONAL PRODUCTS HAVE HAD NEW

HORIZONS OPENED UP TO THEM BY PIAZZETTA’S ACTIVE RESEARCH AND

DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME.

THIS HAS RESULTED IN NUMEROUS PATENTS RELATING TO SYSTEMS AND MATERIALS

REGISTERED INTERNATIONALLY. RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT, PRODUCTION,

ASSEMBLY, SALES AND ADMINISTRATION WORK IN HARMONY FROM THE MODERN

HEADQUARTERS IN ASOLO.

PIAZZETTA PAYS PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE USE OF MAJOLICA AS A CLADDING

MATERIAL. THIS IS MANUFACTURED IN A SPECIAL WORKSHOP WHERE EXCLUSIVE

METHODS ARE USED TO PRODUCE ITEMS THAT ARE UNIQUE IN TERMS OF SIZE AND

QUALITY.

PIAZZETTA WAS BORN FROM A GREAT LOVE FOR FIRES WHICH HAS

BECOME THE COMPANY MISSION. OUR OBJECTIVE IS TO DEVELOP NEW IDEAS

WHICH CAN BRING TOGETHER BEAUTY AND PRACTICALITY TO OFFER HIGHER

LEVELS OF COMFORT FOR YOUR HOME.

PIAZZETTA HAS ITS HEADQUARTERS IN ASOLO. IN THE FACTORY WORKSHOPS,

MARBLE, STEEL, CAST IRON AND MAJOLICA ARE TRANSFORMED INTO

ADVANCED DESIGNS FOR FURNISHING AND HEATING YOUR HOME, USING A

PRODUCTION PROCESS WHICH SEES CRAFT SKILLS EMPLOYED ALONGSIDE

CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY.

Piazzetta’s most valuable resource is its workforce.

Of these, the most important place is reserved for the

craftsmen who are keeping alive the top quality artisan

skills that are indispensable for completing the finishing

details - work which can only be done by hand.

That particular distinguishing mark which puts its stamp on

the products created by Piazzetta originates from this

workforce. The role played by the technicians and research

workers is no less important, bringing forward ever new

design solutions which will ensure that fireplaces and

stoves complement today’s homes in terms of function,

effectiveness, output and environmental safeguards.

Since 1982, Piazzetta stoves present unique design solutions for home heating where both functional and aesthetic

features are important. Numerous models are available and they distinguish themselves by their ability to resolve the

“heating problem” in a highly personalized manner. The materials used and the workmanship are always of the highest

quality and this translates into efficient operation and long-term reliability. Every Piazzetta stove is designed and

constructed to heat in a practical, efficient, clean and economic manner.

The particular technological solutions adopted for the

Piazzetta stoves make them heating systems with superior

qualities. In particular, the ideal relationship between

the combustion chamber and the flow, of primary and

secondary air, offers efficient combustion and an especially

high thermal output.

RELIABLE HEAT

Piazzetta stoves are equipped with wide doors and glass

resistant to 750 degrees. This not only offers greater safety

but also the opportunity to view the full beauty of the fire.

ECONOMIC HEAT

Optimum control of the primary air and the secondary air

flows ensures that combustion is efficient, with consequent

fuel savings.

ECOLOGICAL HEAT

The efficient combustion achieved in Piazzetta stoves

results in an extremely low level of carbon monoxide being

produced, to the benefit of the environment.

The Multifuoco System® ventilation kit, which can be

installed on certain Piazzetta stoves, sets the heated air in

circulation, making it flow out at floor level and preventing

it forming a layer at ceiling level (tested in a room 2.7

metres high).

The Multifuoco System® ventilation kit allows the warm air

to be carried along flexible aluminium pipes, reaching

one or more adjacent rooms which will be evenly heated

(models 900-903).

The Multifuoco System® ventilation kit ensures an even dis-

tribution of temperature in the room for a distance of

approximately 10 metres away, offering improved comfort

NATURAL CONVECTION

Piazzetta stoves use the heating principle of natural

convection in the best way possible due to the large

radiating surfaces of the stove body and the majolica

cladding. Furthermore, Piazzetta technology ensures that

full use is made of the advantages offered by “secondary

combustion”, which is due to the air admitted through

inlets located in the upper part of the door.

PIAZZETTA MAKES THE MAJOLICA, USED FOR THE CLADDING OF ITS STOVES, USING AN EXCLUSIVE PROCESS INVOLVING A

PRODUCTION CYCLE OF FIFTEEN DAYS AND NINE DIFFERENT OPERATIONS, CARRIED OUT ENTIRELY BY HAND. INSIDE THE SPECIAL

WORKSHOP, WHERE HIGHLY SKILLED CRAFTSMEN ARE COMPLEMENTED BY CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY, INDIVIDUAL SECTIONS ARE

CREATED, WHICH ARE UNIQUE IN TERMS OF SIZE, QUALITY AND BEAUTY.

Piazzetta stoves have an internal structure of cast iron or steel and an external cladding of majolica, a traditional material to

which Piazzetta has given new life. Majolica gives the stoves an elegant appearance and provides a useful facility for storing heat,

which is then gradually and evenly diffused throughout the room.

EXCLUSIVE CRAFT WORK The majolica claddingused for Piazzetta stoves is the result of an exclusivecraft process. Each piece of majolica is a uniquesample: as the result of the craft input in themanufacturing process, surface details such as finelines, dotting and shading are seen. These are themarks of its authenticity.

richness and practicality

Most Piazzetta fireboxes are lined with plates in Aluker®,

the innovative and exclusive ceramic material invented by the Piazzetta laboratories.

• Aluker® offers a greater heat resistance (up to 1400 º) compared with traditional materials.

• It stores heat and gives it out to the surrounding room even after the fire has been extinguished.

• It improves combustion

• It facilitates the replacement of parts during maintenance

THE PELLET STOVE RESPECTS THE ECOSYSTEM: IT USES A FUEL WHICH DOES NOT REQUIRE THE FELLING OF MORE TREES,

BECAUSE THE PELLETS ARE OBTAINED FROM THE WASTE PRODUCTS OF WOOD-WORKING. THE BURNING OF THE PELLETS GIVES

OFF VERY LOW QUANTITIES OF CARBON MONOXIDE, THE SAME AMOUNT AS WOULD BE CAUSED BY THE NATURAL DECOMPOSITION

OF AN EQUAL QUANTITY OF WOOD.

CHARACTERISTICS: in order to appreciate the qualities of

the ceramic surround of a Piazzetta stove or fireplace it is

essential to understand the specific functions of this presti-

gious material.

1) AESTHETICS: the bare steel or cast iron firebox is clad

and ennobled by the shapes and colours of the ceramic

surround.

2) HEATING: thanks to its semi-refractory properties, the

ceramic surround withstands the high temperatures gen-

erated by the stove, storing the heat and transferring it

to the surrounding environment in a constant and uniform

manner.

Clearly, the larger the ceramic panel the greater its heat

storage or “thermal mass”; therefore, one-piece surrounds

and surrounds made up of a small number of large tiles are

the most efficient, as they optimise heat distribution in

space and time.

The production of large size ceramic tiles requires specific

skills and techniques that only come from long experience.

It takes between twelve and fifteen days to produce each

part and involves a number of manual operations performed

by a team of up to ten craftsmen. The result of this process

is that each Piazzetta ceramic surround is absolutelyunique.

It shouid be noted that the glaze (a liquid suspension of

finely ground mineral particles applied to the surface of

the ceramic biscuit and then fired at its melting tempera-

ture so that it coalesces, forming an opaque glossy surface

layer) utilized to protect and enhance the appearance of

the ceramic “biscuit” (single-fired clay component), gener-

ates a series of chemical reactions during its application

which inevitably result in visible phenomena, particularly

crazing, pinholes and dark patches. These phenomena are

not defects and do not detract from the specific qualities

of the ceramic body in any way. On the contrary they arepart of the distinctive appeal of genuine ceramic sur-rounds.

CRAZING: a web of more or less visible tiny cracks covering

the entire surface of the glaze caused by the different ther-

mal expansion coefficients of the glaze and the semi-

refractory biscuit (which should not be confused with mate-

rials such as fine porcelain, stoneware, hard paste por-

nelain, fireclay, etc.). Crazing distinguishes this type of

ceramic material in relation to its specific application:

cladding of heating bodies.

PINHOLES: they appear on the surface of the glaze or clear

frit in dense or widely scattered patterns and are caused by

the gases generated within the molten glaze or the ceramic

biscuit escaping to the surface during the coalescing phase.

DARK PATCHES: typically associated with red colour glazes,

these are areas of more or less evident minute black dots

caused by the chemical reaction of the ferrous oxide con-

tained in the red pigment. The dots appear during the cool-

ing phase after firing.

Notwithstanding the complexity and differing appearances

of a special product that continues to this day to be

formed, fired and glazed using largely manual procedures,

the Piazzetta Group guarantees the highest standards of

workmanship and quality controls of all its ceramic compo-

nents, which have been acclaimed for their artistic quali-

ties by experts in the ceramic sector.
