Project Network
A project network is a graph (flow chart) depicting
the sequence in which a project's terminal elements
are to be completed by showing terminal elements
and their Product Breakdown Structure show the
"part-whole" relations. In contrast, the Project"part-whole" relations. In contrast, the Project
Network shows the "before-after" relations.
The most popular form of project network is activity
on node, the other one is activity on arrow.
The condition for a valid project network is that it
doesn't contain any circular references.
8
Predecessor Table & DSM
The activity network diagram technique emerged as the Program Evaluation Research Technique (PERT) and as the Critical Path Method (CPM) in the 1950s. There are several ways to represent the output of the PERT/CPM process.
Project dependencies can also be depicted by a Project dependencies can also be depicted by a Predecessor Table.
An alternative way of showing and analyzing the sequence of project work is DSM * (Design StructureMatrix).

Logic network and Planning
The logic network, also refereed to as precedencediagraming, is the basic management tool forcontrolling, monitoring, and distributing all resourcesthat are directly related to time.
The logic network at the planning stage is a pure dependency diagram. All activities are drawn in the order in which they must be accomplished withoutorder in which they must be accomplished withoutregard to particular construction preference.
One of the major uses of the logic network duringthe planning stage is to indicate all activities that mustbe accomplished to complete a particular project.
As a general rule, an activity should be created for any function that consumes or uses direct labor resources.

Diagramma di Gantt
16
Diagramma di GanttA popular bar chart that aims to show the timing of tasks or
activities as they occur across time. Although the Gantt chart didnot initially show the relation-ships between activities, thishas become more common in current use as both timing and interdependencies betweentasks can be identified.

Relazione tra attività
Per avere la massima rispondenza con la modellazione dei processi le relazioni di interdipendenza temporali sono:

Le relazioni sono ulteriormente modificabili con l’introduzione di ritardi, o anticipi, rispetto al predecessore.

Percorso critico/
Critical Path
The critical path is the sequence of activities that must be
completed on time for the entire project to be completed
on schedule.
It is the longest duration path through the workplan. It is the longest duration path through the workplan.
If an activity on the critical path is delayed by one day, the
entire project will be delayed by one day unless another
activity on the critical path can be finished a day earlier
than planned.

Project Baseline
A baseline is an approved configuration item, for
example a project plan that has been signed off for
execution.
The baseline records the schedule, the planned
resources, the planned costs, and technical requirementsresources, the planned costs, and technical requirements
against which a project is measured. Data including:
Tasks: Duration, Start and Finish dates, work,
timephased work, cost and timephased cost.
Resources: Work, timephased work, cost, timephased
cost, budget work, timephased budget work, budget
