Is the application of pesticide required to maintain water flow in agricultural irrigation ditches? Individual NPDES permit coverage may be required. Are you a state or federal government entity? Is the reason you are applying the pesticide to control: 1.Mosquito or other flying insect pest. 2.Weed or algae pest. 3.Animal pest. 4.Forest canopy pest. Will you be exceeding any of the following during a calendar year: 1.For mosquito or other flying insect pest adulticide treatment area greater than 6400 acres. 2.For weed, algae, and animal pest treatment of more than 20 linear miles or treatment area greater than 80 acres of water. 3.For forest canopy pest treatment area greater than 6400 acres. Are you a large entity as defined in HAR 11-55-01? You are automatically covered under the Pesticide General Permit and do not need to submit a NOI, PDMP, or annual report. You are required to comply with requirements as applicable (e.g. HAR 11-55, Appendix M, Sections 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7). * This flow chart is intended to summarize permit applicability and requirements. • PGP Scenario #3 - Summary If you discharge pesticides to Class A Marine Waters or Class 2 Inland Waters; The reason you are applying is to control mosquitos or other flying insect pests; weed or algae pests; animal pests; or forest canopy pests; AND You are not a State or Federal government entity, but you exceed the cumulative thresholds listed below in one calendar year; or you are a State or Federal government entity (thresholds not applicable). Purpose of ApplicationAnnual Cumulative Area of Application Mosquitoes Adulticide treatment Other flying insects Adulticide treatment Forest canopy pests 6400 acres Weeds Algae Animal Pests 20 linear miles or 80 acres of water

  • PGP Scenario #3 - Requirements You must submit a NOI before your pesticide discharges are covered! Pesticide discharges without coverage are illegal! Further requirements will depend on if you are small or large A Small Entity is a: Local government serving a population of 10,000 or less Private enterprise that does not exceed Small Business Administration size standards (13 CFR 121.201)13 CFR 121.201 Based on # of employees or annual receipts Based on what industry you are in E.g., a Soybean farmer (Industrial Code 111110) is small if annual receipts are $750,000 or less

  • PGP Scenario #3 - Requirements Large entity If you are a large entity you are required to submit a NOI, prepare a Pesticide Discharge Management Plan (PDMP), and submit an annual report in accordance with HAR 11-55, Appendix M. Small entity If you are a small entity you are required to submit a NOI, but do not have to prepare a PDMP or submit an annual report. Both large and small entities are required to READ HAR 11-55, Appendix M.
