    HSE POLICY (HSE-P)

    It is an established fact that the application of strict safety procedures is the onlypanacea to accident, injury to staff, loss of man-hours, risk to health or death. Ourcompany in realization of the above dangers initiated and has continuously upheldthe highest degree of commitment to safe working measures by staff and other

    persons dealing with us. It is to further strengthen the above resolve thatmanagement directed its Health safety and Environmental Management System(HSE MS) to be documented and that they should address all fundamental issuesconcerning the company. This document is therefore expected to provide theadvocacy that is needed to inculcate safety consciousness in all company staff asthey carry out their individual and collective assignments. Management hopes thatthis effort and its full utilization would yield expected results.

    Nordimpianti Nigeria Limited (NNL) is an indigenous Company involved in Civil,Mechanical and Electrical engineering works, and general Oil field services. Themanagement is aware of the hazardous nature of our jobs and intends to alwaysexecute all phases of our work in a safe and economic manner. It is our policy tocarry out our operations in such a way that the health, safety, environment mattersas well as our client rules and regulations shall be strictly observed.

    It will be the duty of every employee to take reasonable care of health and safety ofhimself, his fellow employees and other persons who may be affected by his actionsat work. All employees should be aware that HSE is a line managementresponsibility; hence part of our commitment shall therefore be to provide a goodworking environment for all.     QUALITY MANAGEMENT SUMMARY (QMS)

    QUALITY ASSURANCE/QUALITY CONTROL POLICY

    It is the policy of Nordimpianti Nigeria Limited (NNL) to maintain a quality

    management system that ensures that all the activities of the company are carried

    out in a manner that meets or exceeds the requirements agreed with the client. The

    quality system is aimed at meeting the requirements of the ISO 9002 standard. The

    system is designed to achieve quality by preventing problems rather than by

    detecting and correcting them after they occur. Adherence to the Quality

    Management System is mandatory for all the employees of Nordimpianti Nigeria

    Limited (NNL) and must be applied to all areas of the Companys operations.

    The management of Nordimpianti Nigeria Limited (NNL) recognizes the need to

    maintain awareness amongst its employees and of the need for and application of

    Quality Assurance in all aspects of the companys operations and in their individual

    contributions to those operations. In order to meet this requirement, the company

    Risk Areas Avoidance/Mitigation Action

    Contamination of

    samples

    The contamination of samples will be avoided by use ofproper field sampling techniques.

    Measurement of parameters with very short or no-holdinganalytical time shall be carried in-situ.

    Separate samples shall be collected for parametersrequiring different treatment/preservation beforeanalysis.

    A minimum of one field triplicate (sediment and water)

    will be collected to access field variability. Field blanks and equipment blanks will be collected, as

    appropriate, for sediment and water.

    Samples shall be adequately preserved and labeled.

    Sample mix-up

    Sample containers will be clearly identified with samplenumber, project name, date and time of sampling, type ofsample and any additives used. Self-adhesive labels andpermanent ink would be used. Samples will beimmediately placed in a cooling box and brought to arefrigerator on site as soon as possible.

    Analytical errors

    Analysis shall be carried out within the holding time of the

    respective parameters. Laboratory blanks and blanks spikes will be analyzed for

    organic and inorganic instrumental analyses.

    Only functional and calibrated equipment shall beemployed.

    Only experienced staff shall be involved in the analyticalwork.

    Computation Errors

    Computation of data will be done only with tested

    software and under strict supervision.

    COMMUNITY RELATIONS POLICY

    Nordimpianti Nigeria Limited (NNL) recognizes the importance of the localcommunities as critical elements in the exploration mix. We recognize that apeaceful and contented host community in our areas of operation is sine-qua-non

    to successful and profitable drilling production and completion operations of theoperator. This naturally affects the overall fortunes of the service contractor.

    Nordimpianti Nigeria Limited (NNL) policy in that direction therefore is gearedtowards achieving hitch-free operations in all host communities. It is NordimpiantiNigeria Limited (NNL) Policy therefore at all times to:

    (a) Encourage participation of local personnel in all areas of work requiring nospecified technical knowledge and skills(b) Take concrete steps to ensure participation and transfer of necessary technologyand skillto qualified local personnel.(c) Afford trained and skilled local technical manpower the priority in job

    placement/award of contract wherever available.(d) Implement deliberate management strategy geared towards education,information and mobilization of local populace towards building of cooperation formutual benefit of all stakeholders.e) At all times avoid actions, utterances or attitudes, which may be interpreted orconstrued to mean marginalization of the locals on operator locations.

    STRATEGY:

    1. Community Relations is implemented monitored and controlled by a CommunityRelations Superintendent reporting directly to the Managing Director ofNordimpianti Nigeria Limited (NNL). He is supported by competent and experienced

    Community Relations Officers. They execute Community Relations programs asfollows:

    2. Holds regular operational meetings with local Community representatives such asChiefs, Elders, Youths, Women pressure groups, and influential local chieftainsbefore commencement of contracts.

    3. Such meetings are for enlightenment, information and feedback on localfeelings, opinions and perceived group views relating to operations in suchcommunities. This ensures service contractors know and respect the feeling of thehost communities.

    4. Pursuant to the provisions of these guidelines, Community Relation Officers areexpected to hold regular meeting at all levels of leadership of issues hostcommunities so as to involve them in the decision making process on all involvingthe welfare of such communities.

    5. Use such forums to take collective decisions on welfare packages and items.

    ACCIDENT/INCIDENT REPORTING PROCEDURE

    First Aid is the immediate help that is provided to an injured or seriously ill personbefore medical help can be obtained. It is the responsibility Nordimpianti Nigeria

    Limited (NNL) to ensure that proper first aid is available to employees on all jobsites. The safety officer is in-charge of first aid supplies.

    During the project execution if an accident or serious injury occurs to any of the

    team member, the following checks/procedures shall be observed:

    Check for signs of breathing, serious bleeding, shock, evidence of poisoning, burns,fractures and dislocations.

    If no head injury is observed, lower the head or elevate the victims feet and legs. Ifa serious head injury is suspected, elevate the head slightly.

    Keep the injured person warm (conserve body temperature).

    Do not move the injured person unless it is necessary to do so to prevent additionalinjury.

    Do not attempt to give water or other liquid to an unconscious or semi-consciousperson.

    Make the person as comfortable as possible and do not discuss the severity of hisinjury with him.

    Wash off immediately with plenty of water when corrosive chemicals get in contactwith the eye or skin.

    In all other cases, render the necessary first aid treatment to the injured. Seriouslyinjured person should be moved on a stretcher or in a lying down position.

    Do not apply oil or ointment to the burned skin areas except on specific instructionfrom the attending physician.

    Improper handling of an injured person may cause additional injury or thecomplication of an existing injury. The patient should be moved only if he is indanger of being further injured as in the case of a fire, collapse of a building or

    traffic accident.

    All fractures or suspected cases should be handled very carefully, remembering tocompletely immobilize the injured part.

    Keep a record of the treatment given, the type of movement and theHospital/Clinic.

    Nordimpianti Nigeria Limited (NNL) has a clear cut policy of promoting NigerianContent for all of its operations in addition to ongoing knowledge/technologytransfer. Nordimpianti Nigeria Limited (NNL) is a 100% indigenous Nigerian

    Company. At present the total company workforce consists of 85% Nigerians. Thiswill be increased to 95% as a result of the ongoing training programs adopted bythe company for staff and engineers thereby exceeding the requirements of theFederal Governments Policy on Nigerian Content.

    Labour

    Nordimpianti Nigeria Limited (NNL) promotes the improvement of its Nigerianworkforce by encouraging training, both locally through in-house training programsand also by sponsoring personnel to the facilities ofourAffiliates andSubcontractors premises overseas for in-depth technical training.This means that the workforce has an ongoing development and improvement,

    which will remain with them in Nigeria for use on future projects. These personnel,mainly Technicians and Engineers will in turn pass on knowledge to other companyemployees working alongside them at our various projects and facilities.

    Due to the training programs adopted by the company for Nigerian personnel, thenumber of expatriate personnel is constantly reducing as our Nigerian personnelbecome ably equipped to take over some of the expatriates duties andresponsibilities on our Projects. This is in line with the Federal Governments Policyon Nigerian Content for which we have a target of 95% Nigerians against 5%expatriate. Depending on project requirements, Nordimpianti Nigeria Limited (NNL)also encourages and sponsors Client personnel to attend training programs held at

    our Affiliate and Subcontractors premises.

    Recruitment

    In accordance with the Nigerian Government policy and directives on laborresourcing, Nordimpianti Nigeria Limited (NNL) will endeavor to, wherever possible,recruit Nigerian personnel resident in, or belonging to, the same area or nearestvillage to where the work or services are carried out. In summary, the companys aimis to use Nigerian workers to fulfill positions wherever possible, improving theirabilities through ongoing training and only to use expatriates where they areneeded to provide specific technical expertise to carry out the work safety,efficiently and in a cost efficient manner. NNL encourages producing its own items

    by obtaining the basic raw materials in Nigeria, but will also consider procuringsome from the global market in cases of trying to satisfy clients demand.

    Sub-contractors and Institution

    As with directly employed labour and material/equipment purchases, NNL utilizesthe opportunity of being on ground to make request and procure materials andequipments needed to satisfy clients demand. All sub-contracting functions areconsidered before letting out to avoid compromise in standards.
