Whooping cough was discovered in 1906 by two French scientists and they found the pertussis bacteria. 5,000 to 10,000 people died due to the whooping cough bacteria.
Whooping cough now kills about 30 people n year due to us now having vaccines available to us.
WHAT IS THE HISTORY OF THE DISEASE, WHERE WAS IT FIST
DISCOVERED?
The symptoms are runny nose, mild fever, dry coughing, etc. It seems like a typical cold but it could also
be the whooping cough. In time the cough begins to be much more sever.
WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF THE DISEASE? HOW IS IT
DIAGNOSED?
A person gets the disease by being around a person who as the whooping cough. If you have the vaccine there is a
less possibility way to get the disease.
HOW DOES THE PERSON CONTRACT THE DISEASE?
The infection last about 2-4 weeks, the cough paroxysm can persists for several months. If the infection wasn’t treated on time it could possibly last a couple of months. The patient is
contagious but it will not affect a person that has the whooping cough vaccine.
WHAT IS THE PROGNOSIS FOR THE PATIENT?
Whooping cough is usually treated with antibiotics. Early treatment is very important
so the disease wont get so serious.

I guess it would be useful to find a cure that will stop it forever I guess we could do research and experiment to find
a better cure. And there isn't really a good cure but there is a way to prevent it with the Dtap or the Tdap vaccines.
WHAT IS THE FUTURE OF THIS DISEASE ARE WE LIKELY TO EVER CURE IT? IS THE DISEASE USEFUL IN SOME OTHER WAY?
