PERSONAL PRONOUNS
Read the following.
Charlie McBing got a letter from the king. The king
wanted Charlie McBing to prepare food on Saturday.
Charlie McBing was worried. Charlie McBing used the
internet to search for the food that is fit for the king.
Charlie McBing found that the king likes stew and
custard. So Charlie McBing made huge pots of stew and
huge bowls of custard.
Did you realize that the proper noun “Charlie McBing” appeared 6 times in the
paragraph?
Now, read the short paragraph again..
Charlie McBing got a letter from the king. The

Saturday. Charlie McBing was worried. He used

custard. So he made huge pots of stew and huge

This time the story sounds better. The personal pronouns, He, is used to replace
or refer to people, places or things without actually naming them.
PERSONAL PRONOUNS
The subject of a sentence is the person, animal, place or thing that does the action shown by the
verb.
