Theme

The theme of this series is Perseverance. Throughout the story the characters will face hardships

that would test their body and mind to the limits. Not only that but it is also the driving force

behind the main antagonists and turmoil upon the city. The message of never giving up is quite

apparent and standing up for your dreams is obvious. The music will have a jazzy hip-hop tone,with pianos and brass instruments.

The other theme Awakening is used as several characters find a new meaning to their otherwise

dreary lives, awakening to a new purpose so to speak. The Dream witch wishes to awaken

humanitys darkness within and harvest it to create her own hive mind species.

Story

It has been a few months after the The Fall (31/01/10); humanitys end has been adverted andreturned to their normalcy. Shadow attacks still occur however not as prominent as within the

last year, merely dismissed as rumours and speculations. Although there is a sudden spike in

murders around Urashima City with many falling prey to grisly murders; bodies appearing as

though they were ripped open. Some citizens have gone missing and only to show up days later

displaying symptoms similar to Apathy Syndrome only to be found dead in a days time.

Police baffled by such occurrences keep the media leak under control, however word soon spreads

that murders are being posted online, as well as predicting future murders. The perpetrator of this

online blog goes simply as The Blogger. His current location constantly changes, eluding

detection as he continues to torment the city with his virus. All that has been known about him is

that he wears a mask to conceal his face and voice.

Many see The Blogger and a disciple for a higher power, resulting in many followers and

emulators. Hooded vagrants with gas masks of their own begin to follow him creating and

underground cult. Many are unaware of the situation and the dire circumstance that the murders

create; weakening the Seal and releasing the End once more. With every citizen killed, the

negative emotions of humanity pour out, strengthening the Shadows and in turn bringing

humanity closer to The Fall.

Urashima City

The city is located within Tokyo bay, Japan, and has a population of 2 324, 118 people

The city was founded on April 1, 1970

It developed rapidly as one of Japans port cities within the last few years and serves as a place of

technological business and trades. With a strong economic base, the city has provided many

technological advances within the country. It also serves as one of the main bases of the Kirijo

Group and Saeki Electronic & Biological & Energy Corporation.

Old Town

Where the city was first founded by the north side of the harbour; has a large farmer's market

from nearby farming regions neighbouring Urashima on weekends. Downtown Old Town features

small, quaint shops to keep a rustic look of the city making it a popular place to frequent for dates

and strolls. Old Town is a great place to go shopping for accessories and other assorted trinkets.

Renpoku Neighborhood

This is the sprawling entertainment zone of Urashima where everything new and cutting edge is

introduced here. This is vibrant, trend-setting area is populated with the most fashionable stores,

the latest gadgets and the hippest night clubs. This District is alive all day and night with neon

lighted signs and flashy styles.

GARLAND (Garland Star) in the mallThe flagship store of Urashima's own world-famous fashion-designer, runway/magazine model,

philanthropist and successful business woman. She possesses powers of clairvoyance in clothing.

Each new line up just garners more and more popularity. Clearly the place to go if one seeks the

literally newest clothes of fashionable style on the market.

Renpoku Shopping Center

Nirvana of mallrats. Features 10 floored 30 screen movie theatre, an expansive mall with dozens of

shops, large food court, carousel, 18 hole miniature golf, karaoke.

TURBOSONIC Coaster

An amusement park located close to the mall. Features Western-style coasters where speed andflips are measured in the double figures.

SAEKI CORP STORE

Saeki Corp's consumer products flag-ship store is here, featuring the latest gadgets from around

the world to suit your ever-increasing technological lifestyle. Even features many products

developed by Saeki R&D released exclusively to the city of Urashima, this is also where the

Demon Summoning Phone System was developed.

Reverse World

The Reverse World is created by the Shadows slowly crossing over into the Real World, allowing

an overlapping of the dimensions. Whenever a large amount of despair flood from the human

world, itll create a pathway into the Reverse World where the Shadows are able to bleed through.

With the popularity of DeathBlog increasing, there are more and more doorways openingallowing Shadows even more power, soon theyll come together and assimilate a more concise

form. These are known as Crown Shadows, and can hold a form within the Real World unlike

lower levelled Shadows.

Velvet Room

The Velvet Room is a room within the back of a jazz club located between consciousness and

subconsciousness, run by Igor and his assistant. The constant changing landscape of the Real

World and Reverse World has caused the Velvet Rooms position to always change. Its able to be

located via the DSPScamera when theres a swarm ofpeculiar butterflies nearby.

The Blogger

Hahaha! Pathetic and misguided humans, obey me! Only I can lead you, the ignorant. If

you will not obey, then die!

The Blogger is the embodiment of Protagonist's negative heart. When

his parent's died, his Persona expelled it from his body creating a strong

Shadow that focuses clearly on the destruction of society and bringingthe world under a ruling of no pain and suffering. The Dream Witch

takes an interest in this and aids the Shadow in devising an identity for

itself. He serves as a medium between Shadow world and Real World,

possessing a part of Protagonists Persona; he has the strength and

power to overpower many of the teammates due to the Dream Witchs

influence.

Yidhra the Dream Witch

Yidhra, the Dream-Witch, clouding the minds of her followers;

Dream-Witch, hiding her shape in illusion,

Dream-Witch, cloaking her shape in strange beauty.

A being that has lived for centuries, much like Nyarlathotep aims to

see humanity destroy itself, however she selfishly wishes to rule over

them. To this goal, she uses The Blogger and his website, she's

managed to create despair about the city; various unsolved murders

that are bestowed on people that have given up in life or have a lot of

built up negative energy. With it fuels the beast trying to break The

Great Seal, as well as weakening the barrier between the Shadow

World and Human. By summoning The Fall once again allowing

humanity to become nothing but husks, shell imprint her will upon

them thus creating a massive Hive mind and extending her reign.

Igor

"Welcome to the Velvet Room"

Igor is the mysterious proprietor of The Velvet Room. Only the

chosen may enter and they are granted a velvet key. With this

they can access the realm which Igor awaits to bestow them

guidance.

Charlotte

There is no telling how farinto the dark you must keep running to reach the

truth, however you are closer than you were yesterday.

The daughter of Belladonna, the soprano singer whos hauntingtune still fills the Velvet Room. She is Igors current assistant

whos a little less approachable than the others, speaking rather

bluntly and to the point. She at first doubts Protagonist and the

partys abilities to save the city, sensing the darkness within him,

labelling him as the wanderer ofthe dark, however still aids

him when Igor deems it necessary. She later develops a great

respect and understanding for him and his chosen comrades.

Terminology

Demon Summoning Phone System

The DSPS is a tool much like the Evoker used to temporarily force the Persona to manifest via

calling it out. It still functions and looks like a normal cell phone except for the butterfly and bone

insignia imprinted upon the casing. There are also various upgrades that can be made to the

phone that allow detection of Shadows emerging, the Velvet Rooms current location and

entrances to the Reverse World.

Persona

A Persona is a manifestation of a person's personality, referred to as a "mask" for an individual to

use to face hardship. A Persona is similar to a Shadow. Shadows are malevolent manifestations of

one's inner thoughts, while a Persona is a manifestation of the same feelings but tamed and

trained. Everyone has the ability to create such manifestations, however many lack the heart and

guidance, falling prey to Shadows. Within Persona: Awakening, the characters use devices such as

the Evoker was used to summon and control their persona.

Butterflies

Philemon is a deity who appears as a man wearing a butterfly mask. He lives within the realm of

the subconscious and he awakens within people the ability to use Personae, usually with contact

with blue butterflies. Philemon serves as a neutral observer and he watches as things unfold. Hecannot directly interfere, however, he sends his servants to aid them via The Velvet Room.

Philemon is conducting an experiment with Nyarlathotep to see if humans can become

enlightened beings, or if they will destroy themselves. While Philemon continues to play by the

rule, Nyarlathotep directly manipulates events to ensure the destruction of mankind.

Unfortuneately this time the interference of another party has taken the form of Yidhra who

wishes to create a hivemind for her own purpose.

Shadows

Shadows are the antagonistic force in the plot. They are born from humans, and carry with themhuman emotions, which are mostly negative. Strong-willed Shadows attract lesser Shadows,

which later create stronger Shadows known as Crown Shadows.

Crown Shadows

Shadows that have obtained enough negative emotion to perform an evolution and sustain

themselves within the Real World. Not many are known to exist since the amount of emotion and

Shadows needed to create. Theyre stronger than normal and have the ability to control a human

mind, however if the mind is strong enough and clears themselves of negativity, it will manifestinto a Persona.

The Fall

The origin of the prophecy began 10 years ago prior the events of Port Island. The Kirijo Group

initiated research on Shadows, studying their true nature and hopefully find a way to utilize their

power. Through their experiment, the lead scientists came to know about the Fall. The Fall is

destined to be the End of the World, where Nyx will descend upon the world, destroying

humanity.

Later, the scientists came to know about the herald of Nyx, Death. Embracing death as a

deliverance, the scientists began a massive project to gather the shadows, hoping to resurrect

Death, and subsequently, summoning Nyx. In the last stages of the experiment, however, Eiichiro

Takeba, one of the lead scientists voiced out his silent rejection of the belief and interrupted the

experiment. As a result, Death was forcefully separated into twelve parts. The remaining shadows

along with Death would later go berserk, destroying the facilities and created the phenomena of

the Dark Hour and Tartarus.

Death was eventually sealed within a young child, and due to it being unable to reunite with hiscounterparts, the Fall was delayed for some time. When Arisato Minato arrived to the very first

place the Shadow was created, Tatsumi Port Island, the Shadows became active again, along with

the prophecy of the Fall.
